GoFullScreenshot captures a complete webpage, the visible browser area, or a region you select. Choose Full page, Visible area, or Select area from the compact popup. For full-page capture, Smart capture selects the most likely scrollable area, scrolls through the supported content, and stitches it into a single image. Capturing, stitching, editing, optional history, and exporting all happen locally inside your browser. The GoFullScreenshot extension has no backend, account system, analytics, tracking, advertising, or automatic uploads. HOW IT WORKS 1. Click the GoFullScreenshot icon and choose Full page, Visible area, or Select area. 2. For Full page, Smart capture selects the likely page or content area and scrolls through it automatically. 3. Follow the capture progress in the popup. To cancel, open the popup and choose Stop. 4. After capture, a new tab opens with the complete screenshot and quick-edit tools. 5. Annotate, protect sensitive areas, copy, download, or export the result as a PDF. Customizable Chrome keyboard shortcuts are also available for all three capture types. GoFullScreenshot captures one scrollable area per screenshot. Smart capture selects the likely main area automatically, while Settings lets you force the main content or a scrollable side panel. Blur and pixelation are visual-obscuring tools and should not be treated as permanent removal of the underlying information. SAVE, COPY, AND EXPORT - Copy the complete screenshot to your clipboard - Paste into compatible email, document, chat, and collaboration apps - Download as PNG, JPEG, or WebP - Export the complete screenshot as a PDF - Adjustable image quality for JPEG and WebP - Export at 0.5x, 1x, or 2x scale - Customizable timestamped filenames - Live filename preview - Optional automatic download - Optional native Save As dialog - Optional clipboard resizing for apps that reject extremely large images Normal clipboard copies preserve the original resolution by default. Clipboard resizing is optional and remains disabled until the user enables it. TALL SCREENSHOT PARTS Very tall screenshots can optionally be downloaded as smaller numbered image parts. Available maximum part heights: - 3000 pixels - 4000 pixels - 5000 pixels Adjacent parts overlap by 160 pixels so text and visual context are not cut directly at an image boundary. The complete master screenshot remains available for viewing, editing, copying, full-image download, and PDF export. EMBEDDED PAGE CAPTURE Some websites place their actual long content inside an embedded page. Same-origin embedded pages can be captured without an additional host permission. If a non-scrolling website shell contains its real long content in a dominant iframe from another website, GoFullScreenshot first identifies and names that exact website. Only after the user chooses Allow & capture does Chrome display its own permission request. - No website access is granted at installation - Only the detected exact website origin is requested - Access is used locally to measure, scroll, capture, and restore the embedded page - One-time access is removed after success, cancellation, or failure - Remember access for this site is optional and disabled by default - Remembered exact-site access can be removed from GoFullScreenshot Settings or Chrome's extension controls GoFullScreenshot never uses optional website access for background browsing, tracking, advertising, analytics, or data collection. LOCAL HTML FILES GoFullScreenshot can capture directly opened local HTML files after the user enables Chrome's separate Allow access to file URLs setting. Chrome controls this setting. It is not granted automatically during installation, and GoFullScreenshot cannot enable it on the user's behalf. After the setting is enabled, a directly opened local HTML file supports: - Full page - Visible area - Select area GoFullScreenshot acts only on the active local file after an explicit capture action. The extension never: - Enumerates folders - Scans the device for files - Opens unrelated local files - Runs automatically on local files in the background - Uploads or transmits local file content A local HTML page whose main content is another embedded local file may require the embedded file to be opened directly before capture. This prevents GoFullScreenshot from saving a plausible-looking but incomplete screenshot of only the outer page. Other browser-rendered local file formats are not currently guaranteed. LOCAL PDF FILES Chrome protects the internal scrolling and selection layer of its built-in PDF viewer. For a local PDF, GoFullScreenshot supports Visible area only. Full page and Select area are clearly disabled instead of silently producing an incomplete result. After capturing the visible PDF area, the Crop tool can be used to refine the result. OPTIONAL LOCAL CAPTURE HISTORY Capture history starts only after an explicit user choice. New users can choose to keep recent captures locally or leave history disabled. Existing users are never silently switched on. When enabled, users can keep between 1 and 20 recent captures in the browser's local IndexedDB storage. - Stored only on the user's device - Nothing is uploaded to the developer - Oldest captures are removed automatically when the selected limit is reached - Best-effort storage management aims to remain below approximately 250 MB - Open recent captures directly from Settings - Open or delete individual captures from the History panel - Clear all saved captures at any time - Turning history off removes older captures and retains only the current capture temporarily A local history record can include the screenshot, creation time, pixel dimensions, capture type, source URL, source title, optional note, and filename. If the user captures a local file while history is enabled, its file:// source URL can contain the local file path. This information remains stored only on the user's device. BUILT FOR PRIVACY The GoFullScreenshot extension processes only the page or local file the user explicitly chooses to capture. The extension has: - No backend server - No account or sign-up system - No extension analytics or telemetry - No advertising - No third-party trackers - No automatic screenshot uploads - No browsing-history monitoring - No background browsing - No remote executable code Screenshots, captured content, settings, optional history, annotations, and exports stay locally inside the browser. The extension does not read clipboard contents. It only writes a screenshot to the clipboard after the user explicitly chooses Copy Image. SUPPORT AND DIAGNOSTICS The Support page can be opened directly from Settings to report a problem, ask a question, or suggest an improvement. Copy diagnostic info runs only after an explicit click and copies plain text to the local clipboard. Nothing is submitted or uploaded automatically. Diagnostic information can include: - Extension version and build profile - Installation type - Browser and platform information - Display size and device-pixel ratio - Browser language - Relevant local settings - Downloads permission status - Local-file access status - Number of granted exact website origins - Number and combined size of retained captures Diagnostic information never includes: - Screenshot pixels - Captured page content - Page URLs or titles - Local file paths - Filenames - Notes - Templates - Project names - Remembered website names - Individual history records CHROME LIMITATIONS Chrome prevents extensions from capturing or scripting protected browser pages. These include: - chrome:// pages - Chrome browser settings - The Chrome Web Store - The Chrome Web Store Developer Dashboard - Pages belonging to other extensions GoFullScreenshot respects these protections and never attempts to bypass them. Extremely large pages can exceed Chrome's image and canvas limits. When a safe image cannot be created, GoFullScreenshot shows a clear error instead of risking a browser crash or silently returning an incomplete result. Some websites load content only when it becomes visible. If part of a long page is blank, scroll through the page once so the content can load and then capture it again.
