RefineX is not just a translator. It proofreads your text and translates it at the same time, and the result is inserted directly into the text field – no copy and paste needed. Made for quick posts on social media and for text on any web page. START IT YOUR WAY • Overlay: right-click → "RefineX: Open overlay", or your own shortcut or mouse button. Shows the corrected text and up to three translations side by side. • Two 1-click actions: proofread, translate and replace in one go, each with a target language you set freely. Start them with your own shortcut (with Ctrl or Alt) or a mouse button. Ctrl+Z undoes it. • Mouse buttons (middle button, back, forward, optionally with Alt/Ctrl/Shift) are set right in the RefineX settings – no mouse driver needed. Shortcuts are set in chrome://extensions/shortcuts. HOW IT WORKS • Select text → right-click → "RefineX: Open overlay" (or use your shortcut or mouse button). • The overlay shows the corrected text in its own language (changes highlighted in green) and one translation per target language. • "Replace" writes the result straight into the text field; "Copy" puts it on the clipboard. • Your own rules (up to 1,500 characters), e.g. "use the formal form of address" or "keep a friendly tone", apply to every request. YOUR AI, YOUR KEY (BRING YOUR OWN KEY) RefineX has no account, no server and no subscription. You enter an API key from the AI provider of your choice and pay that provider directly, according to its pricing. • Providers: works with any OpenAI-compatible AI service that you choose yourself (custom address), including local models. • Models and reasoning levels come straight from the provider's API into a dropdown – nothing is hard-coded, so new models appear without an update. • You can switch provider and languages right in the overlay. 40 LANGUAGES + YOUR OWN Pick up to three target languages from 40 built in, or add your own language name. PRIVACY • Nothing happens until you start it (context menu, shortcut or mouse button). RefineX does not read page content in the background; if you set a mouse button, a small script only listens for that button. • Only the text you selected, plus your rules, is sent – directly from your browser to the provider you chose. No page address, no page title, no other page content. • Your API key stays on your computer (browser storage, not synced) and is only sent to your chosen provider. • No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no own servers. LANGUAGES OF THE INTERFACE English and German; follows your browser language or can be set in the settings. NOTE You need an API key from an AI provider (cost is charged by that provider).
