)Overview
Shortcut + left-click saves images and videos. Downloads HLS/DASH streams and records live streams, even after you leave the page.
Hold a key, left-click, and the image or video is saved. No right-click menu, no "Save image as" dialog, no leaving the page. HOW IT WORKS Hold Alt (Option on Mac) and left-click any image or video. tugpic finds the media under your cursor, picks the largest version available, and saves it to your Downloads folder. A small toast in the corner tells you what was saved. WHAT IT CAN SAVE • Images, including the largest candidate from srcset and <picture> • Videos with a direct URL (mp4, webm) • Streaming video (HLS and DASH). Play the video for a moment, then Alt+click it: tugpic collects the segments the page already loaded and joins them into one file. When several qualities are offered, it takes the highest • blob: videos of any size. The download starts inside the page, so nothing is copied or limited • CSS background images and drawn <canvas> elements • Videos inside a linked post. Shortcut-click a post title in a feed and its videos are saved without opening the post • Anything by address. Paste a post, a video file or an HLS/DASH manifest into the box at https://tugpic.rootbly.com/#url and the extension in your browser downloads it — the page has no server of its own RECORD LIVE STREAMS Shortcut-click a live video and tugpic records it instead of downloading. A toast shows the elapsed time and resolution (Recording live · 12:34 · 1080p) with Stop & save and Discard buttons. • Live HLS and live DASH are recorded as the original segments, HTTP-FLV as the original bytes. A video with no address at all (WebRTC) falls back to recording that video's picture as a last resort • The recording keeps going after you leave the page or close the tab. The popup lists what is recording, and the toolbar icon shows how many • Several recordings run side by side, each with its own clock and stop button. Shortcut-click the same video again to stop it • A stream that drops — a paid segment, a restream, a hiccup — is waited out for up to an hour, and one that comes back at a new address is followed. The toast shows how long it has been down so you decide when to give up • Picture and sound sent as separate tracks are both recorded. If only one was available, the file is named -audio or -video so you know before opening it • The file is named after the page — Alice live 20261011-140509.m the same page never share a name • Discard ends a recording without writing a file AUTO-RECORD WHEN A BROADCAST STARTS Add a page under Auto-record in the popup — the page you are on, — and tugpic records its broadcast as soon as it goes live, noclick needed. It checks every 30 seconds while Chrome is running, reaches back a few minutes so the opening is not lost to detection delay, and stops the waany recording does. Choose "With this tab" to keep a tab open forhe stream to their own player; it is reloaded every two minutesuntil the broadcast is on, never while you are looking at it. RECORDINGS ARE WRITTEN TO DISK AS THEY ARRIVE A recording is streamed into a file in the extension's private stnloads at the end, so its length is limited by your free diskspace, not by memory. If that copy fails — disk full, folder not writable — tugpic retries on its own, then keeps the recording and shows it at the top of the popup's recent list with the reason and a Save again button. Chrome quitting is saved at the next start, up to the moment itstopped. EVERY IMAGE IN AN ARTICLE AT ONCE Press Alt+Shift+D, or open the popup, and tugpic gathers the artim. Untick the ones you don't want and download the rest as a batchinto Downloads/tugpic/<page title>/. Changed your mind? One click on Undo removes the whole batch. YOUR SHORTCUT, YOUR KEYS Alt+click is the default. Open the popup or the settings page, cle combination you want. Modifiers (Alt, Ctrl, Shift, Cmd) andordinary keys like D all work. BUILT TO STAY OUT OF YOUR WAY • The popup tells you whether tugpic can run on the current page,'t • Recent downloads are listed in the popup; click one to reveal the file • Nothing is sent to the developer. No accounts, no analytics, noicy: https://tugpic.rootbly.com/privacy • Open source (MIT) with zero runtime dependencies: https://github.com/bysuio/tugpic LIMITS • Encrypted streams (DRM, AES-128) cannot be saved or recorded • A streaming video that has never been played has no segments to collect; play it briefly first • Some CDNs reject downloads that arrive without their Referer • On a few sites whose stream server only answers the player's own page, a live recording stays in the page and stops if you leave it; the page asks before you do. Auto-record on such a site needs "With this tab" • Auto-record sees HLS and DASH only; HTTP-FLV and screen recording stay manual • Saving a recording needs free disk space equal to its size whiloads Only download media you have the right to save. tugpic is not aff
