Overview

Per-channel auto volume on Twitch using BS.1770 loudness measurement. Separate gain during ad breaks.

Remembers a volume per channel and applies it the next time you open that stream. It never moves Twitch's own volume slider. ■ Measures what is playing Twitch publishes no loudness figures, so the extension measures the audio as it plays, to the ITU-R BS.1770 (LUFS) broadcast standard. From that measurement and your target loudness (-18 LUFS by default, adjustable from -30 to -6) it works out the gain for that stream. ■ A separate volume per kind Live and VOD are remembered separately for the same channel, for channels whose streams and archives are mastered differently. Clips are out of scope: their audio is left untouched and plays as it is. ■ Auto-follow LUFS Switch it on or off per channel and per kind, and set a default per kind for every channel. As the measurement settles the gain moves towards your target, and that value is what gets saved. ■ A different gain during ads Set an extra gain to apply while an ad is playing (-6 dB by default, from -24 to +6 dB). Ad breaks are picked up from the cues the player itself emits, and where no cue arrives the player's own ad indicator stands in. ■ Or set it yourself The popup slider runs from 0 to 600%, and you can reset the measurement to have it measured again. ■ On screen The gain in force can be shown as a percentage next to the player's volume bar (on by default). The popup and the settings page show gains as a percentage or in dB. The settings page lists the channels you have saved, with the value for each kind, and lets you delete one or all of them. ■ The same settings on every computer Target loudness, the ad gain, the per-kind Auto-follow LUFS defaults, the display unit and the gain overlay are shared by every computer where you are signed in to Chrome with the same Google account and have the extension installed, when Chrome sync is on. Saved channels and their measurements stay on each computer. ■ Data Saved channels and their measurements are kept in your browser and are never sent anywhere. The shared settings are kept in Chrome's synced storage, which Chrome carries between your computers through your Google account when Chrome sync is on; the extension itself sends nothing. The extension asks only for storage, and runs only on twitch.tv.
