Mark is a simple, intuitive way to read Markdown files as rich document right in your browser

Double-click a .md file and read it like a document, not source code. READING - Opens local .md and .markdown files by double-click - Contents sidebar built from your headings, with click-to-jump and live position - Choose a floating sidebar that stays out of the way, or a fixed one pinned beside the text - Fullscreen mode that hides the tabs - Read-only - your files are never modified APPEARANCE - Six themes - White, Paper, and Dawn for light; Carbon, Ink, and Onyx for dark - Follows your system theme, and remembers a separate choice for light and dark - Font, text size, and line spacing controls - Adjustable content width, from a narrow reading column to full screen MARKDOWN - GitHub Flavored Markdown - tables, task lists, footnotes, strikethrough, automatic links - Syntax highlighting with a language label and a copy button - Math rendering with KaTeX, inline and block - Mermaid diagrams - flowcharts, sequence diagrams, and more - Images, SVG, and safe embedded HTML PRIVACY Everything happens on your computer. Nothing is uploaded, there is no server, and there is no account. The only things stored are your display preferences - theme, font, text size, spacing, width, and sidebar layout - kept in your browser's local storage. Every document is sanitized before it renders. SETUP A setup guide opens automatically when you install Mark. It takes about ten seconds: 1. Turn on "Allow access to file URLs" in Chrome's extension settings. Chrome blocks extensions from reading local files until you do. Mark only reads files you open. 2. Set Chrome or browser of choice as the default application for .md files on your system. Then double-click any Markdown file. Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera, and other Chromium browsers.
