About TruePath TruePath is a browser extension that dynamically generates relative XPath locators when users interact with elements on a web page. The generated XPath expressions are displayed through the context menu, allowing users to quickly identify and use them in test automation scripts. To make locator selection easier, TruePath categorizes generated XPath expressions into the following groups: ID, Href & Src XPath expressions that use unique attributes such as id, href, src, or URL-based attributes. Class, Name, Title & Other Attributes XPath expressions based on attributes such as class, name, title, and other non-unique element properties. Index-Based XPath XPath expressions that rely on an element's position within the DOM structure when more reliable attributes are unavailable. TruePath also provides Developer Tools support, enabling users to customize automatically generated XPath expressions or create custom XPath locators directly within the browser in just a few seconds. In addition, TruePath includes a Locator Analyzer feature that helps evaluate the quality of locators in existing automation code. The Locator Analyzer can analyze locators used on a target web page and review existing Java-based automation code to help identify more reliable and maintainable locator strategies. To further accelerate automation development, TruePath can automatically generate locator code for multiple automation frameworks and programming languages, including: Java C# Robot Framework These features help reduce manual effort, improve locator quality, and increase productivity for automation engineers and testers. Analytics and Privacy TruePath uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous extension usage statistics.
