Overview

Clear the browser cache in one click, one hotkey, or one keyword. No popup, no new tab, no tracking.

🧹 Clear Cache Shortcut — the cache is gone before you let go of the mouse One click on the toolbar icon clears your browser cache. That is the whole product. No popup asking what you meant, no settings tab opening in the background, no confirmation dialog standing between you and a fresh reload. A green ✓ appears on the icon once the browser reports the job done, and then it goes away. This is a full Manifest V3 rebuild of the original. jQuery is gone, the bundled Google Analytics tracker is gone, and Cache Storage — the half of "the cache" the old version silently skipped — is now cleared by default. ✨ FEATURES ⚡ One click — the toolbar icon clears immediately, with no popup and no new tab ⌨️ Real keyboard shortcut — Alt+Shift+C by default, remappable in Chrome 🔤 Omnibox keyword — type cache, press Tab, press Enter 🖱️ Right-click menu — clear from the page you are on, without reaching for the toolbar ✅ Honest confirmation — the ✓ badge appears only after the browser confirms the clear 🧨 Actually thorough — HTTP cache and service-worker Cache Storage, both by default 🎚️ Scope control — add cookies, localStorage, IndexedDB or service workers if you want them 🕐 Time range — clear everything, or only the last hour, day, or week 🔕 Optional toast — a text confirmation for anyone who does not watch the toolbar 🪶 Tiny — dependency-free, a fraction of the size of the original 🔒 Zero network — no analytics, no telemetry, no requests of any kind 🎯 WHO IT IS FOR 👩‍💻 Front-end developers reloading a stylesheet for the fortieth time this hour 🎨 Designers checking whether the new asset actually shipped 🧪 QA engineers who need a cold-start page load on demand ✍️ Writers and editors waiting for a CMS preview to catch up 🛠️ Anyone who has ever been told "try clearing your cache" 🛠️ HOW IT WORKS 1️⃣ Click the toolbar icon — the cache is cleared, the ✓ confirms it 2️⃣ Or press Alt+Shift+C from any tab 3️⃣ Or type cache in the address bar, press Tab, then Enter 4️⃣ Open the options page to choose what "cache" means and how far back to go 5️⃣ Reload the page — you are looking at the real thing, not a copy 🚀 WHY THIS ONE Most cache cleaners open a popup with a grid of checkboxes, which defeats the point: you wanted one click, and you got a small form to fill in. This one puts the checkboxes on an options page you visit once and then forget, and leaves the click for clearing. The confirmation is also real. The badge is set after the browsing-data API resolves, never optimistically before it, so a ✓ means the browser finished the work rather than that the extension asked politely. And the permissions are the same short list the original had, minus the tracking. Browsing data, to clear the cache. Storage, to remember your settings. No access to the pages you visit, no host permissions, no reading your history. 📝 USE CASES 🎨 A CSS change that will not show up until the stylesheet is refetched 🖼️ A replaced image still serving the old version from disk 📦 A deployed bundle that the browser insists it already has 🔁 A service worker holding a stale copy of your app shell 🧾 A login or checkout flow you need to test from a cold cache 💡 TIPS ⌨️ Set your own shortcut at chrome://extensions/shortcuts if Alt+Shift+C is taken 🍪 Leave cookies unchecked unless you actually want to be logged out 🕐 Pick the last hour when you only want to drop what you just loaded 🔔 Turn on the toast if a small badge is too easy to miss 🧨 Add service workers to the scope when a PWA refuses to update Install Clear Cache Shortcut and stop going through the settings menu.
