DataLayer Auditor is a diagnostic tool for marketers, developers, and analytics consultants who need to check whether a website's Google Tag Manager / GA4 implementation is actually firing the events it should. What it does Passively listens to the page's dataLayer (and any custom-named data layer) and logs every push in a persistent side panel — no need to keep DevTools open. Detects public tracking IDs already present in the page's own scripts: GTM container ID, GA4 Measurement ID, Google Ads Conversion ID, Floodlight ID, Meta Pixel ID. Groups and searches captured events, with a one-click filter to hide GTM's internal lifecycle events and see only business events. Generates a structured prompt (copied to your clipboard) summarising the captured data against GA4's recommended event schema, for you to paste into any AI assistant of your choice. Optional "Auto-Discover" scrolls the page and clicks visible "add to cart"-style buttons only, to help surface events without manual clicking. It never follows links or interacts with mcheckout, payment, submit, delete, or account-related elements. Lets you export a session's captured events as a JSON file. What it does not do Does not access, submit, or interact with checkout, payment, or account forms. Does not send any captured data to Anthropic, Google, or any third-party API. The only outbound network request the extension makes is a single best-effort fetch of the page's own public gtm.js file (the same file your browser already downloads when the page loads) to look for readable identifiers — this is often empty on production containers since Google minifies them. Does not persist data beyond the browser session — all captured data lives in chrome.storage.session and is cleared automatically when a tab closes or the browser closes.
