Overview

Rename Chrome tab titles once or by tab, exact URL, or domain.

Make noisy tab titles useful again. Tab ReTitle+ lets you rename browser tabs so they make sense to you — whether you need a temporary label, a name that sticks with one tab, or an automatic rule for an entire site. Choose how long a title lasts • One-time — Rename the current tab without saving anything • Tab-specific — Keep a custom title for the current Chrome tab • Exact URL — Automatically apply a title whenever that exact page opens • Domain-wide — Use one title rule across an entire website Built for real workflows • Preview a new title before applying it • Create reusable templates with {original}, {url}, and {domain} • Keep custom titles in place even when websites dynamically change their own titles • Review and delete saved rules from a dedicated Options page • Quickly open Tab ReTitle+ with Cmd+Shift+E on Mac or Ctrl+Shift+E elsewhere • Optionally use bookmark titles as a fallback • Rename tabs directly from the right-click menu Private by design Tab ReTitle+ has: • No developer server • No analytics • No ads • No tracking One-time titles are never stored. Persistent rules and settings are stored using Chrome’s built-in Sync storage, which may sync them between Chrome browsers signed in to your Google account. Depending on the rule you create, this can include your custom title, original page title, exact URL, domain, or Chrome tab identifier. The developer cannot access your synced extension data. If you enable Tab ReTitle+ in Incognito, persistent rules created there use the same Chrome Sync storage as normal windows and may remain after the Incognito window closes. Use One-time mode when you don’t want a title saved. Open source Tab ReTitle+ is open source, so you can inspect exactly how it works and verify its privacy behavior yourself.
