Staring at a screen all day tires your eyes out more than you'd think. The 20-20-20 rule is the simplest fix: every 20 minutes, look at something about 20 feet away for 20 seconds. The hard part is remembering to do it. That's what Gaze is for. Every 20 minutes, a small card appears in your browser with a 20-second countdown. Look away, blink, or close your eyes until it finishes. It closes on its own. That's the whole thing. The countdown is delivered by Blinky, who blinks along with you and naps when you snooze. Why you might want it: - It's calm. No sounds, no flashing, no streaks to break, no guilt for skipping one. - It knows when to back off. Reminders pause automatically when you step away from your computer, when you switch to another app, and optionally while you're sharing your screen. - It bends around your day. Snooze from 5 minutes to 4 hours, or pause reminders entirely when you need a long stretch of focus. - It collects nothing. No account, no server, no tracking. Your break count stays on your device. Settings keeps a quiet tally of your total breaks and the day you started, a small record of what you've done for your eyes, with nothing to lose.
