The JW Web Add-on enhances supported official websites by making them more convenient, accessible, and adaptable to individual needs. It provides a smoother and more consistent experience across supported pages and devices, helping individuals use the websites more efficiently. _______ Version 12 – Release Notes - WOL Dark Mode: Added System, Light, and Dark appearance options throughout Watchtower ONLINE LIBRARY™ (WOL). System follows the device appearance, while Light and Dark remain selected between visits when WOL is allowed to save preferences. - Media Library Buttons: Added direct buttons between the Audio and Video Libraries in the current language. An Audio button appears in the Video Library, and a Video button appears in the Audio Library. - Alt Text View: Image descriptions now appear and update in full-screen galleries on desktop and mobile. Descriptions follow the selected image and disappear on video slides or images without descriptions. - Expand Width: The wider layout now applies earlier for smoother page loading and prevents embedded videos from overlapping nearby content. - Read in the App: Restored the feature and improved its checks for available JW Library® and WOL destinations. - Video Transcript: Fixed an intermittent issue that prevented the Copy and Download options from loading or caused them to stop working altogether. TXT downloads, copying, and PDF downloads for supported languages have also been improved. - Customize Subtitles: Fixed an intermittent issue that prevented custom subtitle styles from loading or caused the feature to stop working. The menu has also been adjusted so it does not become too large on smaller screens or in full-screen video. - Custom Table View: Moved the feature to the View menu in the action bar of the official website and improved its controls and sorting. - Custom Media Player UI: Limited the custom appearance to JW Stream, moved its setting to the Control Panel, and removed the old player button. - Control Panel: Features unavailable on the current website or device now display N/A instead of OFF, making their availability clearer. - Media and UI Fixes: Second Display, Continue Watching, Image Download, Media Player Control Keys, and Sticky Action Bar now respond more reliably to page, player, gallery, and layout changes. - Other Improvements: Paragraph Link, Play Media in the App, Copy Text, Advanced Search, Online Citation, Language Count, and Daily Text now stay connected to the current page, selection, publication, language, or media item more reliably and avoid outdated or duplicate buttons and information. - Deprecated Features: Subscribe Buttons is no longer available. _______ Key Features: - Smarter Study and Research: Find material with additional search and reference options, copy selected text and citations, and create links to specific paragraphs or playback positions. - Personalized Reading and Viewing: Adjust the appearance and width of supported pages, customize tables and subtitles, and view available image descriptions for a cleaner and more comfortable experience. - Connected Content: Open compatible publications, articles, paragraphs, audio, and video in the Online Library or Library app, and move more easily between related sections of the official websites. - Enhanced Media Experience: View, copy, or download available transcripts; resume unfinished videos; share playback positions; use additional display and playback controls; and download supported gallery images. - Adapts as You Browse: Supported features update as you navigate between pages, change languages, or open different content, keeping tools and controls relevant to what you are reading, watching, or listening to. Features that are unavailable for the current website or device are marked N/A, and some features provide additional preferences directly on supported pages. If an official website adds a similar feature or an update causes a conflict, turn off the affected add-on feature in the Control Panel.
