The off button for social media. Off is a small extension with switches and nothing else. Flip one and the thing it names is gone from the feed, every time, on your own computer. WHAT THE SWITCHES DO Counts and buttons. Hide the likes, views, shares and comment counts, and if you want, the buttons that exist to provoke a reaction. The post stays. The scoreboard goes. Reels and Shorts. Block the short-video pages on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, and with them the Reels tray in the Facebook feed and the Shorts shelf on YouTube's home. Stories, suggestions, the right column. Hide the Stories row at the top of Facebook and Instagram. Hide "Suggested for you", "People you may know" and "Who to follow". Hide the right column on Facebook, X and Instagram, the sponsored panels and the trends; the search box stays. Hide Marketplace and Groups from the Facebook menus, and their pages. Ads. Remove sponsored posts and sidebar ads. Off finds them by the platform's own label, in twelve languages, and hides nothing it cannot name as an ad. A missed ad stays visible; an ordinary post is never taken by mistake. Swearing and slurs. Swearing is starred out from a fixed word list. Slurs hide the post or comment that carries them, in every setting. It is a list, not a model, so it is instant and it works offline. Your own rules. Type the words, phrases and accounts you do not want in the feed. Whole words only, any language, and nothing has a say in it but you. Each rule shows how many posts it has hidden. Block this. Point at anything on a page and it goes. A post hides that account from then on. A tray, a panel or a suggestion is remembered by its shape, never by its text, and hidden whenever it comes back. Pick several in one go. Pause. Put any platform on a break with one switch. A parent PIN can lock the settings. Every switch shows how many times it has fired on your computer, so you can see it work. HOW IT SURVIVES A REDESIGN Platforms rename their code every week. Off does not look for names. It looks for the things a platform cannot drop: the word "Sponsored" on a paid post, the link a Story must carry, the menu entry that leads to Marketplace. From there it works out the box to hide by its shape. When it cannot, it hides nothing and the counter under the switch stops moving, so you see it the same day instead of finding it out later. WHAT OFF DOES NOT DO It reads no meaning. Every switch is a fixed rule. That is why Off is instant, free and certain, and it is also its limit: it takes out the swearing and the counts every time, and it cannot catch cruelty phrased politely. It keeps nothing and sends nothing. Off has no database and no server. Its only permission is storage, for your own settings. It works on feed pages and never on private messages. Nothing you scroll past is written down anywhere. WHERE IT WORKS Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube, in Chrome on a computer. Off does not install on a phone; no browser extension can. Child, Teen and Adult presets are starting points. Child turns everything on and stars the swearing. Teen keeps the buttons. Adult starts with the slur rule and your own list. Blochează asta. Arată spre orice de pe o pagină și dispare. O postare ascunde acel cont de atunci încolo. O bandă, un panou sau o sugestie este ținută minte după forma ei, niciodată după text, și ascunsă ori de câte ori revine. Poți alege mai multe deodată. Pauză. Pune orice platformă pe pauză cu un buton. Un PIN de părinte poate bloca setările. Fiecare buton arată de câte ori a acționat pe calculatorul tău, ca să îl vezi lucrând. CUM REZISTĂ LA O SCHIMBARE DE DESIGN Platformele își redenumesc codul în fiecare săptămână. Off nu caută nume. Caută lucrurile pe care o platformă nu le poate lăsa deoparte: cuvântul „Sponsorizat" pe o postare plătită, linkul pe care un Story trebuie să îl poarte, intrarea din meniu care duce la Marketplace. De acolo află cutia de ascuns după forma ei. Când nu poate, nu ascunde nimic și contorul de sub buton se oprește, ca să vezi în aceeași zi, nu mai târziu. CE NU FACE OFF Nu citește sensul. Fiecare buton este o regulă fixă. De aceea Off este instant, gratuit și sigur, și tot de aceea are o limită: scoate înjurăturile și contoarele de fiecare dată, dar nu prinde cruzimea formulată politicos. Nu păstrează nimic și nu trimite nimic. Off nu are bază de date și nu are server. Singura permisiune este stocarea, pentru propriile tale setări. Lucrează pe paginile de feed și niciodată în mesajele private. Nimic din ce derulezi nu este scris nicăieri. UNDE MERGE Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X și YouTube, în Chrome pe calculator. Off nu se instalează pe telefon; nicio extensie de browser nu poate. Presetările Copil, Adolescent și Adult sunt puncte de plecare. Copil pornește totul și pune steluțe pe înjurături. Adolescent păstrează butoanele. Adult începe cu regula cuvintelor jignitoare și lista ta. Butoanele noi pentru suprafețe pornesc oprite în fiecare presetare; le aprinzi pe cele pe care le vrei.
