Overview

Myna: a Chrome extension that turns your reading into short English grammar exercises.

Myna transforms everyday browsing into an English lesson by swapping a few words on each page with interactive grammar and vocabulary exercises. You read English for hours a day without ever meaning to study it. Myna turns a little of that reading into practice. On a page you're already reading, one word occasionally becomes a small question — "the committee ___ met," pick one — you answer, see why, and keep going. About four seconds. Flashcard apps only work if you remember to open them, and remembering is the first thing to go. Myna doesn't ask you to remember anything: the practice lives inside the reading you were already going to do. It covers grammar, not vocabulary — articles, subject-verb agreement, prepositions, verb forms, the kind of thing that trips up even a confident reader. Coverage stays narrow on purpose: Myna only asks about what's unambiguously right or wrong, and stays quiet wherever English genuinely allows more than one answer. It's built to never get in your way. Skip a question and the correct word just fills in — no penalty, nothing marked wrong. You'll see about ten a day by default, spread across whatever you read, never two on the same screen, and one click turns it off for two hours, the rest of the day, or for good on any site. It also remembers what you actually get wrong and asks about that more. A skill you're shaky on comes back tomorrow; one you've clearly got recedes for months. A short, optional quiz on your first read sets a starting point. Nothing you read is ever sent anywhere. Myna runs entirely on your device — no account, no sign-up, no server — and everything it's learned about you can be erased in one click. That's the whole idea: keep reading the way you already do, and let the grammar come along for free.
