Make any webpage easier to read and easier to write on. Reading Ease lets you instantly switch the text on any website to a more accessible, easier-to-read font, no design skills or fiddling with browser settings required. It also reads pages aloud, lets you dictate instead of typing, and gives you tools to help hold your place on the page. NEW: Dictation. Speak instead of typing, in any textbox on any website. Your voice never leaves your computer. Choose from research-backed accessible fonts, bundled and fully offline: • Atkinson Hyperlegible — designed by the Braille Institute for low-vision and dyslexic readers • OpenDyslexic — built specifically to reduce common dyslexic reading errors like letter swapping • Lexend — engineered around reading-fluency research, with extra-wide spacing options Or use any font already installed on your own computer. Fine-tune the reading experience: • Adjust font size, letter spacing, word spacing, and line spacing with simple sliders • Set a font globally, or override it for just the site you're currently on • Icons and icon fonts are left untouched, so buttons and UI never break Read pages aloud: Select any text and click to hear it read back, with the current sentence and word highlighted as it goes. Adjustable speed and voice, with a small draggable on-page control bar. Dictate instead of typing: Speak into any textbox on any website, including Google Docs, Gmail, and comment boxes. Click into the box you want to write in, press Start, and talk. A small bar at the bottom of the screen shows what it's hearing as you speak. Your speech is turned into text entirely on your own computer. Nothing you say is sent over the internet, and nothing is recorded or stored. Setting up happens once: Reading Ease asks permission to use your microphone, and downloads the speech files for your language. That permission is given to Reading Ease itself rather than to each website, so you're never asked again every time you visit a new site. After setup, dictation works with no internet connection at all. Hold your place on the page: • Screen mask - dims the whole page except a moveable spotlight that follows your cursor, so it's easier to keep your place in long text. Choose a strip or a shape, and set its size, color and strength. • Screen tint - lays a color wash over the page, for readers who find sharp black-on-white uncomfortable. Controls you can actually read: Reading Ease's own buttons and menus use whichever font you've chosen, so the controls are as easy to read as the pages they're changing. You can also set their size and color theme independently of the page. Private by design: Bundled fonts never touch the network, everything works offline. Fonts from your own computer are read once, cached locally, and never uploaded anywhere. Dictation runs on your own computer too: your voice is never transmitted, recorded, or stored. The only time Reading Ease sends anything anywhere is if you choose to use the "Report a bug" button.
