What's new in 1.6 — the chat does things on the page • 💬 Double-tap Shift on any page (or tap the floating button) and tell the AI what you want: "post something about tonight's game", "write a comment saying thanks". It opens the composer if needed, writes the text and fills it in. You read it and press Send — it never sends, submits, pays or deletes anything itself. The chat box opens next to the field you're in and moves beside whatever it just filled, so you always see both. • 🎯 Select text and the toolbar is already there, right where you let go of the mouse: an ask box plus Search, Shopping and ⋯ — nothing to click first. • 🧩 Two layouts. Full: the labelled toolbar and the answer card right under the text. Compact: an icon pill, the answer as a note in the page margin level with the line you selected, and the floating button becomes a slim rail of its items at the page edge. Switch on the bar, on the card, or in Settings. • 🔗 Say where you want to go — name the store or site in your instruction — and when the AI is at least 80% sure that is what you want, the page opens in a new tab for you. Everything else stays a link that waits for your click (switchable in Settings). • ✦ A floating button on every page opens a quick menu you arrange yourself — chat, capture a region or the whole screen, history, price comparison for the page you're on. Select text and a toolbar appears; box a region and the action wheel appears; double-tap Shift and the chat appears. Ask, search, shop, or have it write into the page for you. Prefer just a small button that opens the wheel? Settings → Wheel. Box any region — hold Alt (⌥ Option on a Mac) and drag, or use "📸 Screenshot region" in the side panel — and the action wheel appears around it. Double-tap Shift, or tap the floating button, and the chat appears. The wheel's top, right and left spokes are yours to change: icon (emoji library or your own image), name, colour, action kind, prompt text, and submenus of up to 3 sub-items — with a live preview while you edit. The bottom spoke is always ⋯ More, a grouped list of every function. 💬 Chat that acts on the page Tell it what you want in plain words. For a post, a reply, a comment or a message, the AI sees the names of the page's fields and buttons — never what is typed in them — picks the box that matches your request (a post goes into the composer, never into a search box), composes the text in your voice and fills it in. If the composer isn't open yet, it clicks the control that opens it, looks again, then fills. It never presses anything that sends, submits, publishes, pays or deletes — that press is yours, after you've read what it wrote. For everything else it simply answers, with the page as context. 🔍 Search that reads the page Search doesn't just paste your words into a search box. The AI looks at what you selected and where you are — the page title, its main heading, product details, the paragraph around your selection — works out what you're after, searches the web, and answers in a summary box on the page with the most useful results. Each result, and an "open in" link for the destination you picked (web, images, video, encyclopedia…), opens only when you click it. Tick "Search the exact selection" to search your words as they are. 🛒 Shopping skills • Similar here — comparable products on the store you're browsing • Similar elsewhere — the same kind of product at other stores • Compare price — the exact item (brand + model) across stores, cheapest first Each one searches the web and shows a summary box: what the product is, then real listings with prices and links, plus "search more" links for the stores in your region. Links come only from the search results — nothing is made up, and nothing opens until you click. Your shopping region (auto-detected from your time zone, or set in Settings) decides the stores, the currency and where results come from. 👁 Vision on any region Box a product photo, a chart, a UI — ask "what is this?" about the exact pixels, or run Search and the shopping skills on what's in the box. Answers appear right beside the box, follow-ups included. ✏️ Instructions that act Type what you want done — "translate this", "extract the dates", "find cheaper ones on other sites" — and follow up right in the result panel. Name the store or site you want in the instruction and, when the AI is at least 80% sure that is what you want, it opens in a new tab for you; otherwise you get a link that waits for your click (switchable in Settings). Every run lands in the side-panel history with a reopen link. 🧩 Two layouts Full keeps the labelled toolbar and puts the answer card right under the text. Compact folds the toolbar into an icon pill, places the answer in the page margin as a note level with the line you selected (a hairline ties the two), and turns the floating button into a slim rail of your quick-menu items at the page edge. One switch, three places: the end of the bar, the answer card's header, Settings → Wheel. 🎨 Image generation From selected text or a boxed region, generate one clean render or a 2×2 style grid with an editable style template (bring a Google AI key, or recharge credits). ⚡ Free trial & credits Nothing to set up: your first AI action creates a free account automatically — 2,000 credits for text questions, no email, no password, no card. A one-time credit pack unlocks screenshot questions and image generation. Or bring your own API key and pay your provider directly — switchable any time, per provider, each with its own saved key. 📦 Boxes are action hubs Every capture leaves a highlight box on the page. Click it to reopen the wheel on the same capture — no re-selecting. The corner badge summarizes what happened there; hover to delete. 🗂 The side panel remembers everything Captures from the current page stay on top, each with its own Q&A thread. A collapsible global history logs every search, shopping trip, chat and generated image, self-managed within a 1 GB local budget. 🌊 Real streaming Words appear as the model generates them, formatted as they arrive — close the panel early if it's off-track. 🌍 16 interface languages, switchable in Settings. 🖥 Works with the nodx desktop app (optional): captures sync over 127.0.0.1 — your machine only. The extension is fully useful without it. ═══════════════════════════════════════════ PRIVACY ═══════════════════════════════════════════ Bring your own key and this extension has no backend at all: ✓ Your API keys, settings, captures, and history live only in chrome.storage.local on your own machine. ✓ Requests go directly from your browser to the AI provider you configured. ✓ Desktop sync targets 127.0.0.1 (your own computer) and can be switched off. ✓ No analytics, no telemetry, no trackers, no ads. What an AI request contains: the text or region you chose, plus a little context from the current page so the AI can tell what you mean — the title, the address without its query string, the page's own description and heading, product details it publishes for search engines, and the text right around your selection (about 1,500 characters at most). Form fields and anything you type into the page are never read. When you ask the chat to write into the page, it additionally gets the names of the page's text boxes and buttons (their labels, never their contents) so it can pick the right one; it fills, and only you send. Search and shopping skills also run a web search through the AI provider, with search words written from your selection and your shopping region's country and time zone so results are local. The one exception to "no backend" is free mode, used while you haven't set up a key of your own: your requests then route through our server (aicon.solutions) so we can pay for the model on your behalf. The trial account is created on your first AI action (never at install) — a random username and token, nothing more. The server stores that username, the token, its credit counters and the country of its latest request (a country code, not the address) — never your questions, answers, or IP address. It also keeps anonymous aggregate counts of what free mode is used for (kind of action, which site an instruction or skill opened, and the country a request came from — the country code Cloudflare reports, never the IP address), never linked to any account; raw events auto-delete within 90 days. Each forwarded request carries a pseudonymous hashed identifier so the AI provider can flag abuse without ever receiving your username.
