Point at any element, copy a source pointer for your coding agent, edit it live — styles, text, design tokens, even WebGL shaders.

Point at any element on any page. Copy a pointer your coding agent can act on, a screenshot of it, or the exact style changes you just made to it. Everything runs in your browser, and nothing leaves it. Pointee is the new name of Claude Code Probe. Same extension, same install, now version 2.0: agent-agnostic, redrawn, with everything 1.5 did carried across. What it does Point Mode. Click the toolbar icon, then hover. A dashed outline draws the element's box model with its real corner radii, and a readout beside it names the tag, id and classes, the size, the first of its text, the layout and paint properties that aren't defaults, and the ancestor path. Click to select, and four actions appear. Copy Code. A pointer, not a description: where the element came from in your source when your dev tooling exposes it, the page, a unique anchor, a selector, its position among its siblings, whether it is one of a repeated template, its text, and its HTML at the depth you choose. Paste it under your own instruction and the agent knows which construct you mean. Screenshot. A PNG of the element alone, on the clipboard. Edit. A panel attached to the element's edge: type, spacing, size, fill, border, shadow. Type a value, arrow it, or drag sideways to scrub, and the page updates under your hands. When a value sits on a design token — var(--title-sm), a Tailwind step, an oklch() palette — the panel says so and steps the scale instead of flattening it to pixels. Undo walks one timeline across every element you touched. Copy, and you get the pointer plus a before → after list of what changed, written so the agent can find the declaration. Select Parent. Climb the tree one level at a time. Measure. Hold Option (Alt on Windows and Linux) and point at another element for redlines between the two: the distance across each gap, guides where the edges don't align, inset measurements when one contains the other. WebGL. Select a canvas while editing and the panel's Advanced section lists the shader's uniforms as live controls. Works with whatever reads your clipboard: Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, Copilot. Pointee doesn't talk to any of them. It writes text; you paste it. Settings Eight themes for Pointee's own chrome (System follows your OS), four layouts for where the actions sit around a selection, and controls over how measurements read, what the edit panel shows, and exactly which fields ride along in a copied payload — with a live preview of the payload itself. Changes apply to open tabs immediately. Privacy No accounts, no servers, no analytics, no tracking. Nothing about you or the pages you visit is stored or sent anywhere. The only network requests it ever makes are for stylesheet files the page you are looking at has already loaded, while the edit panel is open, so it can name the design tokens they define.
