Detailed description Tim's MeshTab turns Chrome into a visual workspace for the things you use every day: open pages, bookmarks, project links, notes, tasks, reminders, and reusable work areas. Instead of keeping dozens of tabs open or digging through long bookmark folders, MeshTab lets you organize your browser around the way you actually work. Create MeshTab Tabs for clients, projects, roles, routines, research, or personal work. Inside each Tab, build visual Groups, save links, keep quick notes, manage tasks, and return to important work without losing context. MeshTab is designed to be useful throughout the workday. Use it as a pinned workspace, open it when needed from the extension button, or use the New Tab Edition as a configurable landing page for new Chrome tabs. CORE WORKSPACE - Create multiple MeshTab Tabs for different projects, clients, responsibilities, or areas of your life. - Add visual Groups inside each Tab and nest Groups inside other Groups. - Resize and arrange Groups to create a workspace that matches how you think. - Drag Groups to reorder them or move them between Tabs. - Keep frequently used links together instead of searching through bookmark folders every time. OPEN PAGES + SMART LINK HANDLING MeshTab includes an Open Pages drawer on the left side of the workspace so you can see other open Chrome pages while you work. - Click an open page to switch directly to it. - Drag an open page into a MeshTab Group to save it. - Click a saved MeshTab link and MeshTab first checks whether that page is already open. - If the page is open, MeshTab focuses the existing tab instead of intentionally creating a duplicate. - If it is not open, MeshTab opens it in a new Chrome tab. - Collapse the Open Pages drawer when you want more workspace. VISUAL BOOKMARK ORGANIZATION MeshTab works with Chrome bookmarks while giving you a more visual way to use them. - Organize saved links into Groups and nested Groups. - Drag links between Groups and reorder them. - Give a saved link a MeshTab-specific label without changing the underlying Chrome bookmark title. - Use compact favicon-and-label link rows to keep the workspace clean. - Resize Groups and choose how many link columns each Group uses. QUICK NOTES MeshTab includes both General Notes and Tab-specific Notes so you can capture information without leaving your browser workflow. - General Notes are available regardless of which MeshTab Tab you are using. - Add a Note to General Notes, an existing MeshTab Tab, or a newly created Tab. - Edit Notes directly in place. - Paste screenshots and images directly into Notes. - Create Notes inside other Notes for nested information. - Web addresses typed or pasted into a Note become clickable links. - Mask a Note when you want its contents visually hidden until you reveal it. - Resize, reorder, and move Notes between MeshTab Tabs. - Use the extension popup to capture a Note quickly while working on another page. TASK MANAGEMENT MeshTab includes an integrated task system designed to keep work close to the browser context where it belongs. - Create General Tasks or assign Tasks to a specific MeshTab Tab. - Give each Task a due date and Low, Medium, High, or Critical priority. - MeshTab calculates effective urgency using chosen priority, age, and due date. - Aging and overdue work can naturally move higher in the list without silently changing the priority you originally selected. - MeshTab recommends a Next Task based on current urgency. - Each regular MeshTab Tab includes a collapsed TASKS block that shows the open tasks assigned to that Tab. - The right-side Mesh Tasks drawer gives you a compact always-available task list and can be filtered by All Tasks, General Tasks, or an individual Tab. - Open the full Task Center for a larger task workspace. When you complete a Task, you can add closure notes and record how long the work took in either minutes or hours. MeshTab keeps the normalized time so completed-work analytics remain consistent. TASK HISTORY + ANALYTICS The Task Center can show configurable analytics including: - Open Tasks - Past Due - Closed All Time - Closed Today - Closed Yesterday - This Week - Last Week - This Month - This Year Hover completed-task analytics to see the combined logged time represented by that metric. The Completed Tasks section can be filtered by date range. It automatically totals the number of displayed completed tasks and their combined logged time. You can also select any subset of completed tasks to see a separate subtotal for only the selected work. REMINDERS MeshTab includes a Reminder Center for time-based follow-up without needing a separate task application. - Create one-time reminders. - Create daily reminders. - Create recurring reminders for selected days of the week. - See upcoming reminders with date, time, recurrence information, and live countdowns. - Switch between Daily and Weekly reminder views. - Snooze reminders for common durations such as 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, one hour, the top of the hour, or the bottom of the hour. - Pause, enable, edit, or delete reminders. - Create reminders quickly from the extension popup. - Receive Chrome/system notifications when reminders are due. A Reminder can optionally be linked to a MeshTab Task. Linked Tasks are shown on Reminder cards, and Tasks show their linked Reminder information so the two stay connected. Completing a Task keeps the relationship; deleting a Task removes the link without deleting the Reminder. NEW TAB + HOME WORKSPACE The New Tab Edition can use MeshTab as the landing page for fresh Chrome tabs. - Turn Use MeshTab for New Tabs on or off in Settings. - Choose a Default Home Tab so a fresh Chrome New Tab can open directly to a specific MeshTab Tab. - Choose Last active Tab if you prefer to return to the most recently used MeshTab workspace. - When MeshTab is used as the New Tab page, an unpinned MeshTab can show a Home Screen control for returning to Chrome's built-in New Tab page. - Pinned MeshTab tabs hide the Home Screen control so the pinned workspace stays focused. STARTUP + WINDOW CONTROL MeshTab gives you control over how the workspace opens. - Open on start - Pin on start - Pin on Open - One MeshTab per Window - One MeshTab for All Windows With One MeshTab per Window selected, Open MeshTab reuses the MeshTab in the current Chrome window if one already exists there. It does not jump to a MeshTab in another window. If none exists in the current window, MeshTab opens a new one. Pin on Open affects only newly created MeshTab tabs. If you manually unpin an existing MeshTab, opening or focusing it again does not force it to become pinned. LIGHT, DARK, OR SYSTEM APPEARANCE Choose the MeshTab appearance that fits your browser setup: - Light - Dark - System System follows the Chrome/operating-system color preference. Appearance applies across the main workspace, Notes, Tasks, Reminders, dialogs, popup, and About page. CONTROL WHAT YOU SEE Settings include SHOW controls for Notes, Tasks, and Reminders. Turn a feature's interface off when you want a simpler workspace. Hiding a feature does not delete its saved information. SEARCH Use MeshTab's global search to quickly search across the workspace, including Tabs, Groups, Notes, Tasks, Reminders, and saved links. BACKUP + IMPORT MeshTab supports JSON export/import for backing up and moving your workspace. Current backups include Tabs, Groups, Notes, Tasks, completed-task information, Reminders, settings, and supported relationships such as linked Tasks and Reminders. MeshTab also includes import support for compatible TABME bookmark data. Imported bookmark content is merged into the workspace while preserving existing MeshTab data where possible. PRIVACY + LOCAL WORKSPACE MeshTab is built around Chrome's extension APIs and local extension storage. Its workspace data is stored in Chrome extension storage, and saved links use Chrome's bookmark system. The extension does not require a MeshTab cloud account to organize your workspace. Permissions are used to provide the features visible in the product, including bookmark organization, open-tab awareness, local storage, favicons, scheduled alarms, and reminder notifications. WHO IS MESHTAB FOR? MeshTab is useful for people who spend a large part of their day in Chrome and want a persistent visual place to organize work. It can be used for client work, consulting, project management, research, release activities, testing, study, administrative work, personal organization, or any workflow where links, notes, tasks, and reminders need to stay connected.
