DictFloat

Floating English dictionary with local glossaries, MDX/MDD, sentence translation, and custom AI providers.

DictFloat DictFloat adds a compact, movable lookup panel to the webpage you are currently using. Select text, use the context menu, or type a query to look up English content without interrupting your reading. Main features • Look up selected or typed words, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs. • Use editable local glossaries and import JSON or CSV terminology files. • Connect supported local MDX/MDD dictionaries and optional offline dictionary data. • Translate submitted sentences or paragraphs with an enabled translation service. • Configure optional AI endpoints for grammar explanations, vocabulary breakdown, and technical reading. • Enable or disable dictionary, online, and AI sources directly from the lookup panel. • Keep lookup history, settings, glossaries, source order, and provider configuration in Chrome local storage. • Customize the theme, accent color, font size, and panel width. • Back up and restore editable extension data. Privacy DictFloat processes only text that you actively type, select, or submit. When an online lookup, translation, or AI service is enabled, the submitted text may be sent to that service to complete the requested operation. Local glossaries and local dictionary files are not uploaded by DictFloat. Optional API credentials are stored locally and are excluded from ordinary backup exports. DictFloat does not contain advertisements and does not sell user data. DictFloat is designed to make English lookup, translation, and reading assistance available without leaving the current webpage.
