Spotify's playlist page stops helping once a playlist gets big. Playlist Tools puts search, per-column filters, sorting, real reorder, view-first shuffle, multi-select, bulk actions, cloning, splitting, backup & restore, analysis and export right inside the player - built to stay fast on playlists with thousands of tracks. Works on your Liked Songs too. And yes - it brings the classic heart back. It can also recolour the player itself - a real light mode for Spotify, five more themes, or your own two colours. No accounts, no tracking - everything runs locally in your browser. ▬▬▬ What it does ▬▬▬ ▐ Search the whole playlist Find any track instantly, even in playlists with thousands of songs. Double-click a result to jump to the track - or play it right away. Open with Ctrl+Shift+F or from the playlist action bar. ▐ The heart is back Spotify replaced the heart with a checkmark - Playlist Tools swaps it back. Liked tracks show the classic green heart on playlist rows, and unlike Spotify's hover-only checkmark it stays visible while you scroll, so you see what you've liked at a glance. On by default; one toggle in settings turns it off. ▐ Filter by any column Per-column filters directly in the playlist view - narrow by title, artist, album, release year, play count, date added or duration, with ranges like >1995, >100m plays or <5d. Or show only duplicates, or only your liked tracks, in one click. ▐ Sort your view - or make it stick Sort by any column without touching the playlist: sorting, filters, shuffle and dragging rows are all view-only. Happy with the new order? "Apply current order to playlist" writes it to the real playlist - after a confirmation. ▐ Shuffle, move & undo Really shuffle the playlist order (not just the queue) - the shuffle appears in the panel first, so you can look at it and shuffle again before committing anything. Or drag rows straight to where you want them - one at a time, or a whole selection that lands side by side - to preview a new order in the panel; nothing on Spotify changes until you apply it. Move a selection to the top, the bottom, or right after any track you pick, and that writes right away. Every reorder saves the previous order first, so "Restore previous order" is a one-click undo. ▐ Select & bulk add/remove Multi-select tracks with your keyboard or mouse, then add the whole selection to another playlist, move it within this one, or remove it from the playlist in one go (always with a confirmation first). ▐ Clone any playlist Make a full copy of any playlist - including ones you can't edit - as a new playlist you own. Great before reworking a mix, or for making someone else's playlist your own. ▐ Split big playlists into parts Turn one huge playlist into numbered playlists of any size you choose: split 3,000 songs by 100 and you get 30 new lists named "Name (1/30)" through "Name (30/30)", in the original order, with the original playlist left untouched. A live preview shows exactly what you'll get before anything is created. ▐ Playlist tools, one click away A green button right in the playlist action bar opens Clone, Backup, Restore and Split directly - no need to open the search panel first. The same actions also live in the panel's Actions menu. ▐ Analyse what is actually in a playlist Open the analysis view and see the playlist as a whole: which eras it draws on, who your top artists and albums are, how it grew month by month, how long the tracks run, how often they are played, and who added what on a collaborative list. It also finds repeated tracks - the same song sitting in the list twice, or slipped back in from a remaster. Click any bar, band or bucket and every other chart narrows with it, so "my 1990s tracks" and "the ones Sam added" are one click each, and the results table behind follows the same filter. Where Spotify exposes them, tempo, musical key and a mood map are shown too. ▐ Share a playlist as a Spotify code Turn any playlist - or a single track - into a Spotify scannable code, the little barcode you point the Spotify app's camera at. Handy for a poster, a slide, a wedding table card, or just sending someone straight to the right list. ▐ Back up & restore Save a playlist's exact tracks and order to a file, then restore it whenever you need to. Recover from a stray shuffle, a collaborator's edits, or an accidental delete: restore in place after a clear preview of what changes, restore into another playlist you own, or rebuild a deleted playlist as a new one. Your backups are plain files that stay on your machine. ▐ Works on Liked Songs Search, filter, sort and export your Liked Songs just like a playlist - and bulk-remove likes with the same confirmation-first flow. ▐ Light mode & themes Spotify only offers dark. Playlist Tools recolours the whole web player - sidebar, playlist, now-playing bar and this extension's own panels - with proper light mode, plus new dark themes.
