Overview

Quality scores, honest titles and summaries for videos, plus a personal ranking that learns on your device. For YouTube™.

Know whether a video is worth your time before you click. Aegis adds a small quality score to every video card on YouTube™: on the home feed, in search, on channels and next to the video you are watching. Click it for an honest title, a short summary, the key takeaways and why the video scored the way it did. What you get - A 1–10 quality score based on what the video actually says (its captions), not on its thumbnail - Honest titles: a plain description of the content replaces clickbait titles (always, only for clickbait, or never) - Summary and key takeaways in your YouTube language, or one you choose - Sort feeds and search results best-rated first, if you like - Signals such as information density, filler, sensationalism and how well claims are supported, plus 12 categories such as educational, practical, humorous or relaxing, and up to 9 of your own - Sponsor segments are left out of the rating (optional, using SponsorBlock) - Thumbnails stay grey until rated and regain their colour the better the video is (hover to see full colour) - Shorts shown in greyscale, if you like - Settings right on YouTube via the Aegis gear in the top bar, including which categories you value most It learns what you like, on your device From what you watch, how long you stay and your likes and feedback, Aegis learns your taste and shows a personal match score. It can dim low-quality or low-match videos and move the best ones up your home feed. You can see why a video matches, hide topics or channels, and pause, export or delete everything. The learned profile never leaves your browser. Your choice of AI, no account Aegis has no server. It rates videos with Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano on supported devices (free, on-device), or with your own API key for Google Gemini (free tier available), OpenAI, Anthropic or OpenRouter, or a local Ollama server. Video text goes only to the provider you choose. Aegis is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.
