Overview

Your projects, ready to work: a new tab with modes, one-click workspaces and one next step per project.

LoadOut turns Chrome's new tab into a home base for the things you're actually working on. Bookmarks sort the internet by website. Tab managers save whatever you happened to have open. LoadOut starts from your projects: the links each one needs, the tabs you work with, and the one next step to take. WHAT YOU GET • Today screen: every new tab shows your active projects, each with its next action. • Search everything with Ctrl+K: projects, links, snippets and open tabs, and optionally your history and recently closed tabs. Pages you use most rise to the top. • Projects and modes: give a project modes like Design, Build or Client, each with its own links and click-to-copy snippets. • One-click workspaces: save the tabs you always work with and reopen them grouped under the project's name. Tabs load only when you click them, and closing them brings you back to the project. • Save from anywhere: right-click any page, link or highlighted text and file it to a project with a reason (research, competitor, content idea), or drop it in your inbox to sort later. • Add links without typing: drag bookmarks in, paste addresses, pick from your open tabs, or turn a bookmark folder into a project. • Get back fast: press Alt+Shift+H from any tab, or type "lo" and a project name in the address bar. • Optional time tracking: turn on a timer for any project, see where your week went, and export hours to CSV. It stops itself when you step away. • Light and dark themes, undo for deletes, and a weekly backup reminder. MOVING FROM ANOTHER TOOL Bring your setup with you. Import a bookmarks file from Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, paste your OneTab export, or drop in a JSON or CSV export from tools like Toby, Raindrop or Session Buddy. Tick the folders you want: each becomes a project, and its subfolders become sections. WHO IT'S FOR • Freelancers and agencies who switch between clients all day • Developers with several repos, dashboards and docs per project • Founders and makers running a product and a side project at once • Anyone whose "tabs I need for this" live in their head instead of their browser PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No LoadOut servers. No analytics or ads. Everything you add is stored in Chrome on your computer, and you can export a backup file any time. FREQUENTLY ASKED Do I need an account? No. Install it and it works. There's nothing to sign up for. Will it change or delete my Chrome bookmarks? No. LoadOut only reads bookmarks when you choose to add some, and it copies them. Your bookmarks stay exactly as they were. Bookmark access is optional and only requested the moment you use it. Does it read my browsing history? Only if you turn on history search, and then only while you search, inside your browser. It's off by default, and you can switch it off in Settings. Is my data sent anywhere? No. There are no LoadOut servers. Your projects live in Chrome's storage on your computer. Will it slow down Chrome? No. LoadOut only runs on the new tab page and its own popup. It doesn't run on the websites you visit, and saved workspaces load their tabs only when you click them. Does it work in Edge, Brave or other Chromium browsers? Yes. Any browser that installs from the Chrome Web Store can run it. What happens if I uninstall? Chrome deletes LoadOut's data, so export a backup first from Settings → Data.
