Tether: Watch Together

Sync playback with someone far away, across the streaming services you already have, plus a shared notes space.

Watch shows, movies, and videos with someone who isn't in the room. No video call running the whole time, and no "wait, pause it, I missed that." Each of you streams from your own account in your own browser tab. Tether keeps play, pause, and seek in sync between you, and automatically brings someone to the current playback position when they join. Tether does not stream, share, or rebroadcast the video itself. Each person watches with their own access to the streaming service or video platform. Install Tether and you can create a room with a code and invite link ready to share. The person you're watching with installs the extension too, then joins through your invite link or enters the room code manually. That's the whole setup. Currently supports Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Max, YouTube, and more. There is also a Notes tab for planning what to watch next, a Chat tab so you can talk without switching apps, and reactions you can send over the video without interrupting the moment. Made for long-distance couples, friends, and anyone who wants to have a movie night together without screen sharing, even when you're watching from different places.
