Open a text file from a link in Text Editor.

Text Editor is a free app that allows you to create, open, and edit text files on your computer and Google Drive. This extension adds "Open with Text Editor" to the right-click menu on links, so you can open a text file from a web page directly in Text Editor. All standard text editor features are supported, including syntax highlighting, font size, word wrap, tabs and spaces, printing, undo/redo, keyboard shortcuts, and more. How to use Text Editor * Right-click a direct link to a text file and choose "Open with Text Editor", or click the toolbar button and paste a link. * The first time you use a site, Chrome asks whether the extension may access it. Sites that already share their files with any web page (for example raw.githubusercontent.com, cdn.jsdelivr.net, unpkg.com and GitHub Pages) open without a prompt. * The text file will be read and opened in Text Editor at texteditor.co in a new tab. You do not need to save it to your Downloads folder first. * From there, you can view the file and make any changes or edits. * After edits are made, use Save to save the edited file to Google Drive or your computer. * You can also download a copy of the text file to your computer or device using the "Download" button. About Text Editor * This extension opens a text file from a link of your choice in Text Editor, letting you make changes and save them to Google Drive or your computer. * Text Editor works with plain text files, web files, data files, and code files. * Standard text editor features are supported including syntax highlighting, word wrap, themes, and keyboard shortcuts. * Text Editor is a pure Javascript web app. All processing is done locally in your web browser and on your computer. The extension holds the file in the tab's memory only until Text Editor has it, and does not upload it to any server. * This version supports direct, public HTTPS links up to 10 MB. Links that redirect or require sign-in are not supported.
