Overview
Split screen tools for Chrome's Split View: swap sides, reload both tabs, sync scrolling, auto-zoom and more.
Two tabs side by side, made better. Split View Plus adds the missing tools to Chrome's built-in Split View (split screen): reload both sides at once, swap them, put any tab into a split, scroll both pages together to compare them, and more, from a right-click, a shortcut or the toolbar button. An independent extension, not made by or affiliated with Google. Great for comparing two pages, translating or proofreading side by side, following documentation while you work, or keeping a dashboard open next to your task. Requires Chrome 155 or later, which has Split View built in. Split View Plus adds to it; it doesn't replace it. Work with both sides - Reload both sides at once, or hard-reload them to skip the cache - Swap the left and right pages in one step - Jump to the other side from the keyboard - Mute the other side, or let audio follow the side you're using - Unsplit in one click Put tabs where you want them - Right-click any tab to put it in the left or right pane. With several splits open, pick which one; named splits are listed by name - Start a split with the next tab, a new tab, or a copy of the page you're on - Right-click a link to open it in the other pane - Select text and look it up in the other pane, with Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Wikipedia or your own site Make both pages readable - Auto-zoom: zoom both sides to 90%, 80% or 67% while they share the window, and back to normal when you unsplit. Your own zoom on a page always wins - Sync scrolling: scroll both pages together, by the same share of each page or the same distance (for two versions of one page) - Name a split and give it a colour, so you can tell your pairs apart Use it your way - Right-click a tab or a page: the Split View Plus menu shows the actions that fit - Keyboard shortcuts: Alt+Shift+R reloads both, Alt+Shift+S swaps sides, Alt+Shift+O focuses the other side, Alt+Shift+P opens Split View Plus (Option+Shift on a Mac). Change them, or add one for sync scrolling, at chrome://extensions/shortcuts - The toolbar button shows which side you're on and everything you can do with the pair. Chrome keeps new extensions under the puzzle-piece icon: click it, then the pin next to Split View Plus, to keep the button on your toolbar. Everything also works unpinned, from the menus and shortcuts - Light and dark themes; the interface is available in 50+ languages Permissions Split View Plus installs without asking to read your browsing history or to access every website. It asks only when you first use a feature that needs more: - naming a split asks to manage tab groups (a named split is a tab group) - sync scrolling asks for access to a site the first time you use it there; you can remove that access at any time from Chrome's extensions menu
