Tab Lifecycle
Overview
Puts inactive tabs to sleep and queues them for your review before closing.
Tab Lifecycle manages long-inactive open tabs in stages. When enabled, it runs local periodic scans and uses Chrome's native tab discard for eligible inactive tabs. Older eligible tabs enter a review queue instead of being closed by default. From the review queue, you can close selected tabs, protect a site, pin a tab, or pause lifecycle processing. Before each close, Tab Lifecycle rechecks live browser state and writes a local archive record. If the archive write fails, the tab remains open. Restore archived entries by reopening their saved URL in an inactive tab, preferably in the original window. The extension has no account, cloud service, analytics, telemetry, content scripts, host permissions, or network requests. Settings and archives remain in local extension storage. Safety rules skip active, pinned, audible, protected, grouped-by-default, non-discardable, special-URL, and last-in-window tabs. Lifecycle management is disabled by default. Automatic closing is off by default and requires an explicit setting.
