Overview
Google Flights decision workspace: true cost, connection risk, comfort and schedule quality. Local-first, optional AI.
FlightGlass reads the flight results already on your screen and answers what the headline price cannot: which of these is actually right for this trip? It adds a summary line to each result and a panel beside them. It does not book anything, and it does not go looking for prices anywhere else. WHAT IT ADDS TO EACH FLIGHT • True cost, as a range. The fare plus the bags, seats and fees that apply to the way you travel, with every line marked verified, estimated, generic or unknown. • Connection concern, with its reasons listed. Ground time against your own buffer, terminal changes, whether you clear immigration in transit, whether bags are likely re-checked. It never says "safe" or "unsafe". • Schedule and body clock. Time zones crossed, direction of travel, red-eye detection, and whether the arrival hour is one you can actually use. • Comfort, with its confidence. Typical seat pitch, and a plain admission when the figure is only generic for the aircraft type. • Itinerary traps. Self-transfer, separate tickets, airport changes between legs, overnight connections, wrong-day arrivals and date-line crossings. • Countries you would rather not transit. List them once, and any itinerary routing through one is marked. It reports the routing; it does not interpret visa rules. • Emissions against what is typical for the route, when the page states them. WHILE YOU DECIDE • Compare up to five itineraries side by side, with a plain-language answer to "what am I paying extra for?" • A trip board for the ones still in play: your own note, the status you gave it, and the price it carried when you pinned it beside the price it shows now. • Export a Markdown table, a CSV, a printable page or the raw figures. Your notes travel with them, and so does the note that these are local calculations. • Saved and pinned flights stay readable with no connection at all. • A record of what this browser saw, and when. Described that way, never as market data. ON THE SEARCH PAGE Before you search, the panel offers the searches you already ran, the lowest price this browser saw at the time, and what has happened since. One click re-runs any of them. ON THE DESTINATION MAP Explore answers a different question, so it says different things: cost per hour of flying, nights per hour, and an estimated trip cost when the fare and the nightly rate share a currency. Filters hide destinations over your stop limit, over a flight time you choose, or in a country you avoid. BUILT FOR THE KEYBOARD Move through results, keep or dismiss each one, jump between sections, and save a note without reaching for the mouse. Press ? for the full list. WHAT IT WILL NOT DO It does not invent facts. Baggage rules, seat pitch, aircraft configuration, past prices and border requirements either come from a source it can name, or are reported as unknown. An estimate is labelled an estimate. A figure that has gone stale says when it was last checked. PRIVACY Everything runs on your device. No account, no server, no subscription, no analytics, no tracking. Your searches, notes and saved flights stay in your browser and are never sent anywhere. OPTIONAL AI You can add your own provider key for a written second opinion, or point it at a model running on your own machine. It explains the reasoning and can argue with the weighting, but it cannot change a number: nothing a model returns can alter a score. Every feature above works without it. LANGUAGES English and Spanish. PERMISSIONS • Google Flights and Explore pages: to read the results already displayed and draw the panel beside them. It runs nowhere else. • Storage: to keep your settings, saved flights and notes on your device. • Alarms: to notify you about a search you asked to be reminded about. • Context menu: one right-click item that opens the panel. • AI provider access: requested only if you choose a provider, and only for the one you chose.
