Corral — Automatic Tab Groups

Groups tabs by site, splits GitHub PRs into Review and My PRs, and flags forgotten ones. Never closes a tab without asking first.

Corral keeps your tab strip organised without you having to think about it. Open a few tabs from the same site and Corral files them into a Chrome tab group automatically, named and coloured by domain. Subdomains stay together — github.com and gist.github.com land in the same group, not two. It also keeps an eye on the tabs you have stopped using. When enough of them have sat untouched, Corral shows a count on its icon and can send you a single notification. You open the review page, see everything idle in one list with how long it has been forgotten, and decide what happens next. Corral never closes a tab on its own. That is the whole point. WHAT IT DOES • Automatic domain grouping — new tabs are grouped as you browse, per window • Smart domain matching — subdomains group together, and multi-part domains like bbc.co.uk are handled correctly • Stable names and colours — a site gets the same group colour every time • Adopts your existing groups — if you already have a "Github" group, new GitHub tabs join it instead of starting a duplicate • Leaves your own groups alone — a group named "Reading list" is never touched or dissolved • Stale tab review — see every idle tab in one place, sorted by how long it has been forgotten • Unload to free memory — drop a tab from memory without losing it; it reloads when you click it • Close with undo — closed the wrong ones? One click brings them back • Adjustable thresholds — set how many tabs make a group and how many idle hours count as stale • Light and dark mode GITHUB PULL REQUESTS (OPTIONAL) • Three PR groups — "Review" (orange) for PRs awaiting your review, "My PRs" (blue) for yours, "Pull requests" (purple) for the rest • Review requests find you — checks every 5 minutes and opens each new one in a tab, in the Review group • Stays put after you review — submitting a review does not make the tab jump groups; it leaves only when the PR lands • Live status — every PR tab is labelled Open, Draft, Merged, or Closed • "Safe to close" — merged and closed PRs are flagged and pre-selected, so clearing them is one click • Optional auto-close — off by default; when on, merged PR tabs close themselves with a 7-day undo • Never auto-closes the tab you are looking at, or a pinned tab • See your open PRs — the ones you authored or that are awaiting your review, and open any that lack a tab • Turn the watcher off, or keep it on but stop it opening tabs — both are single toggles • Connect with a GitHub token you create yourself, or sign in with GitHub — no password is ever typed into the extension • Works inside restricted organisations, where company policy blocks unapproved apps from private repos • Tells you what is wrong — if single sign-on or repo access is missing, Corral says so and links the fix instead of showing an empty list • Disconnect at any time, which erases the token and all stored PR data WHAT IT NEVER DOES • Never closes or discards a tab unless you ask it to • Never touches pinned tabs, the tab you are looking at, or tabs playing audio • Never sends your tabs, URLs, or history anywhere — everything stays on your device • No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no external servers
