Overview
UI enhancements for miniCRM: tags, layouts, related records, contact details, tidy notes and combined related activities.
STRT Appearance is an internal browser extension developed for STRT to improve day-to-day usability of miniCRM — the CRM platform our team works in every day. Out of the box, miniCRM has a few UI quirks that slow things down: tags get cut off and are hard to read, a single accidental click on the delete button can remove a tag without any warning, the fixed column layout wastes screen space, contact cards can carry a long history of old dated course tags that clutter the view, and a contact's related records are lumped into one undifferentiated list with no visible status. This extension fixes all of these. 1. Tag Expander Tags in miniCRM are displayed in a compact, truncated format that hides their full content. Tag Expander gives you the choice to display them stacked (one per row, full width) or inline (side by side, wrapping naturally). Either way, tag names are shown in full up to 22 characters — no more guessing what's behind a clipped label. 2. Tag Delete Guard One misclick and a tag is gone. Tag Delete Guard adds a confirmation step before any tag is deleted, so accidents don't happen during fast-paced data entry. Choose between a clean modal overlay, a native browser confirmation dialog, or simply hide the delete button entirely if your team doesn't need it at all. An optional toast notification confirms when a deletion goes through. 3. Column Layout Entity detail pages in miniCRM have a fixed column layout that doesn't always make the best use of your screen. Column Layout adds two sliders to the extension popup: one for the form fields column width and one for the right sidebar. Drag to resize — your preferences are saved and applied automatically on every page load. 4. Sidebar lists: grouping & order miniCRM lists related records in an effectively random order. This feature sorts each related-records block with sensible rules and groups a person's deals under quiet captions by pipeline status (NEW, IN PROGRESS, APPLIED, CANCELLED…), in miniCRM's own pipeline order, soonest course first. Courses are listed in natural order ("SM2" before "SM10"), other lists newest first. Toggle it off to fall back to miniCRM's default order. 5. Active Record When you open a record, it also appears in the related lists as a faint gray entry that's easy to miss. Active Record makes it stand out: choose its colour (gray or blue) and optionally make it bold. By default the current record is shown in blue and bold. 6. Deals Button On a course page, Deals Button adds a "Deals for this course" button to the header. It opens miniCRM's filtered list of the deals (applications) for that course, matched by the course code. Colour (blue, black or red), new or same tab, or off — all in the popup. 7. Smart Notes & Activity On record pages the Activity feed and Tasks list get a tidy-up. The note's author becomes its heading, a small green or red pill shows whether the task was completed or failed, the type tags your team writes into a note (SCALL, MCALL, EMAIL, ADMIN) become colour-coded pills, and notes imported from ActiveCampaign carry an info bubble with the original author, email, date and reference. An empty Tasks box collapses. By default it also hides the entries miniCRM writes by itself, leaving the notes a person wrote plus the channels you keep on (emails, calls and SMS each have a switch, all on by default); switch "Hide automatic entries" off and everything comes back, since nothing is deleted. It works in any miniCRM language. The Activity filter's "Closed tasks" option is renamed to Notes. 8. Tag Date Filter Contact cards can accumulate many dated course-instance tags from years of past courses, cluttering the card. Tag Date Filter lets each user hide the old ones by their course start year — pick a threshold in the popup (e.g. "Show course tags from 2024") and older course tags are hidden from view. It's entirely view-only and per-user: it only hides chips in your own browser and never deletes or edits any tag in miniCRM. Undated tags and course-type, topic, brand, and lead tags are always shown; switch the feature off (or back to "All") and every tag reappears. 9. Smart Contacts The contact block in the right-hand sidebar gets two improvements. When someone works at a company, miniCRM lists every contact of that company; the colleagues' cards are hidden, matched by miniCRM's contact ids. And where miniCRM shows only one phone, email and address per contact, every value is listed with its label: a phone dials, an address opens in maps, an email starts a message. Both halves have their own switch. View-only — nothing is edited in miniCRM. 10. Box Order A record page shows its fields in a stack of boxes down the middle column, in an order fixed by how the record type was set up — which is rarely the order any one person actually works in. Box Order lets you rearrange them yourself: hover a box heading, grab the handle that appears on its left, and drag the box where you want it. The arrangement is saved for that record type and applied every time you open one, so your colleagues keep their own order of the very same page. Boxes are only moved on screen — no miniCRM setting is touched, nothing is hidden, and switching the feature off in the popup restores miniCRM's own order instantly. 11. Related Activities On address book pages, click "Read activities" to collect activity across all related records. Temporary background tabs open together and close independently after reading each record's activity pages. Browse ten entries per page, newest first, with the source record's name, product, status and date in each card. The feed respects your "Hide automatic entries" preference, provides cancellation and reports incomplete reads. Results stay in page memory and nothing is edited in miniCRM. 12. Multi-AND Filter (on by default) miniCRM's filter builder allows each field once, and repeats of a field mean "either/or" — so "has tag A AND tag B AND not tag C" cannot be built. With this on, build a condition the normal way, click "Pin as AND", and it keeps filtering while its field becomes selectable again. Pinned conditions are listed in a panel with remove and "move back" buttons. They are kept when a filter is saved; on a saved filter the panel's buttons change that filter directly — the one place this extension writes to miniCRM, only on your click, with the save call miniCRM's own editor uses (a shared filter asks twice, a read-only one is never changed). It also works in automation filters. 13. New Deal Form The "Create new deal" form, opened from a contact's Projects box, fills in what it can. As you type a Course Type or Course Code, the courses miniCRM holds are offered (case- and accent-insensitive, by code or name); picking a code fills in its type. The title is built from the course and the contact's name (given name first) until you type it yourself, and "Connect card" is switched on. The course list is read once per tab from your own session; nothing is written — the deal is created by your own Submit. 14. Deal Cards On a contact record, each deal in the right-hand column becomes a small card: the stage written out in its colour, how the deal was paid (e.g. Season Pass, Team Pass, bank transfer) and how long ago it was created, with details on hover, in English or Hungarian. Past 20 deals the rest load into the same list instead of a separate page. Read from your own session in one request; nothing is written to miniCRM. 15. Tasks & Activity On a record page miniCRM stacks the task list above the Activity log and lets it grow without limit, so on a contact with a real history the log is several screens down. This gives the task list a height of its own — a share of the window you can set, 40% by default — with its own scrollbar, so the Activity log sits on screen next to the open tasks. Nothing is hidden and nothing is shortened: every task is still in the list, one scroll away, and the "Tasks", "Email reply" and "New task" buttons stay where they were. It also marks where the Activity log begins, with a gap and a coloured edge, because the two blocks used to run into each other. Both the height and the marker can be changed or switched off in the popup. 16. Search Scope Searching a name in miniCRM's top search box lists every record that mentions it, often over a hundred pages. Search Scope adds a switch in front of the box — Contacts, Courses, Deals or Everywhere — and a search opens narrowed to exact matches in that category; a single result opens straight away. Everywhere is miniCRM's own search. It only changes the address of your search; nothing is read or written. 17. Record Colours A deal and its contact's address-book page look alike and are one click apart. Record Colours tints each kind of record page (and its list and kanban) with its own pastel colour, following miniCRM's light or dark theme, and puts a caption such as DEAL or ADDRESS BOOK above the title. Colours and captions are set in the popup. One stylesheet; nothing is read or written. 18. Search Columns miniCRM's search results always show the same five columns. Search Columns adds a gear to the table header: add the created date, tags, email, phone, company or any field of the card, hide the columns you do not need, and resize columns by dragging (double-click fits). Your choice follows you across your Chrome browsers; the default adds Created and Tags. Values are read from your own session, one request per page; nothing is written. 19. Skip Landing Page Opening minicrm.hu stops on the marketing homepage until you click "Belépés" (log in). Skip Landing Page goes straight on to the team's miniCRM account instead: signed in, you land on the account's Today view; signed out, miniCRM shows its own login form there. Only the homepage is redirected — the help pages, the blog and the pricing page stay reachable — and the switch is in the popup on any page of the account. Nothing is read from or written to miniCRM. 20. Campaign Report Campaign Report shows miniCRM's Campaigns report the way ActiveCampaign did. The list gets a totals strip (campaigns, emails sent, open, click and click-to-open rates), an Unsub column and resizable columns. A single campaign gets tiles for sent, unique opens and clicks, click-to-open, unsubscribes and bounces (counts or percentages), and every link of the email with its clicks — those with 0 too. A click on a number opens miniCRM's own list of those contacts. Read from the same report; nothing is written. 21. Campaigns Menu Item The email templates the team writes its newsletters in sit under CONTACTS › Templates, a sub-item that is easy to miss. Campaigns Menu Item adds a "Campaigns" entry at the top of miniCRM's left menu that opens them in one click. It looks like miniCRM's own menu items and is highlighted while the templates are open. It is off by default and can be switched on in the popup. Nothing is read from or written to miniCRM. 22. Email UTM miniCRM does not add Google Analytics parameters to newsletter links, so its clicks arrive as direct traffic. Email UTM adds a panel to the template editor's settings: it proposes a campaign name from the template name, and one button puts utm_source=minicrm, utm_medium=email, the campaign and a utm_content per link on the links to your own domains (list in the popup). Other sites, files, unsubscribe links, variables and existing UTMs are left alone; pressing again updates instead of duplicating, and Remove UTM takes them off. The change is made in the editor (in Design templates, in the saved template's link addresses only). 23. Hide Synced Emails When an email sync archives a whole mailbox into miniCRM, the Activity log of every card fills with correspondence that does not belong there. Hide Synced Emails hides the received (Inbox) and sent (Sent) email entries from the Activity log on every record page, with a separate switch for each in the popup. It is a screen only — the records stay in miniCRM — and it only changes what you see in your own browser. Nothing is read from or written to miniCRM. 24. Keep Notes as Notes In miniCRM a note is a closed task. To add a line to it you press "Reopening" — and that turns it into an open task at once, so pressing Save, or just closing the dialog, leaves an open task behind instead of the note. Keep Notes as Notes keeps a note you reopened a note: Save (shown as "Save note"), the dialog's X and the Escape key close it again the way it was closed before — Completed or Failed — with the text as you left it. It does this by pressing miniCRM's own Completed or Failed button for you, so miniCRM saves the note exactly as if you had pressed it yourself. New tasks, and tasks you edit, are not affected. 25. Deal Email Worker miniCRM records an email sent from a deal card only in that deal's own history, so it never shows on the person's contact card. With Deal Email Worker on, one miniCRM tab per browser helps STRT's own server (minicrm-sync.strt.hu) put those emails on the contact card as notes: now and then it reads a few deals' email history with your session and sends back only each email's subject, time, status, kind, template and when it was opened — never addresses or bodies. The note links the subject to the email template and the deal's name to the deal card, and shows when the email was opened. Opening a deal card asks for a look a few minutes later. The notes are written by the server; the browser only reopens one of these notes when the server asks, so the server can add the time it was opened (a closed note cannot be edited otherwise). Can be switched off in the popup. 26. Config Backup Worker The API that STRT's nightly miniCRM backup uses cannot read the templates, the automations or the saved filters. With Config Backup Worker on, once a day one miniCRM tab reads them with your session — slowly, in the background — and sends them to STRT's own server (minicrm-sync.strt.hu), which keeps them with the backup. A failed read sends nothing. Nothing is written to miniCRM. Can be switched off in the popup. 27. Settings All preferences are managed through the extension popup. Changes apply instantly — no page reload needed. Settings sync across your Chrome browsers automatically. This extension is intended for internal use by STRT team members and currently runs exclusively on miniCRM. It does not collect any data. Apart from Deal Email Worker, which sends email summaries (no addresses or bodies) to STRT's own server and reopens its own deal-email notes when asked, and Config Backup Worker, which sends the account's templates, automations and saved filters to the same server for backup, it communicates only with your own miniCRM account, which it reads from within your existing miniCRM session purely to decide what to show on the page you are already looking at. It stores only your UI preferences, locally, via Chrome's built-in sync storage. For contacts with one or two related cards, Related Activities starts automatically without a Read button. Larger lists keep manual start.
