Fix grammar in any text field with one tap — powered by Chrome's built-in on-device AI. Completely free, no account, no subscription. Type anywhere on the web. A moment after you stop, a small button appears at the corner of the field. Tap it, and your text comes back with the grammar, spelling and punctuation fixed — in place, in the same field, in your own words. ✍️ THREE WAYS TO FIX • Tap the button that appears at the field's corner → fixes the whole field • Select text, right-click, choose "PI Fix Grammar" → fixes just that selection • Press Alt+G → fixes the selection if there is one, otherwise the whole field 🔒 PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Corrections run on Gemini Nano, right on your machine. Nothing you type is uploaded, logged or stored. It works offline. This is the default and stays the default — the extension never quietly switches to a server behind your back. ☁️ FREE CLOUD MODELS, IF YOU WANT THEM Faster machine somewhere else, or hardware that can't run the local model? Paste your own free-tier API key from any of these: • Groq — the most generous free allowance, and by far the fastest • Google AI Studio (Gemini) — free tier, no credit card • OpenRouter — free models across many providers (IDs ending in :free) A key is optional. With none saved, no server is ever contacted. Worth knowing: free API tiers generally allow the provider to train on what you send them, so the on-device engine remains the private choice. ⚡ MEASURE, DON'T GUESS One click in the settings runs the same test sentence through every engine you have set up, then shows how long each took and exactly what each one gave back, and makes the fastest one your default. On a typical machine a cloud model answers in a fraction of a second while the local one takes a second or two — but it is your hardware and your connection that decide, so measure yours. The settings page always shows which engine is actually active. 🎯 FIXES MISTAKES, NOT YOUR VOICE It corrects grammar, spelling, punctuation and capitalization. It does not rewrite your style, shorten your point or make you sound like a press release. Your language, tone, line breaks, emoji, links, @mentions, #hashtags and code snippets all survive untouched. 🌐 WORKS EVERYWHERE Every site, every text box: social posts, webmail, support tickets, code review comments, CMS editors, chat apps and forms inside iframes. Plain inputs, textareas and rich contenteditable editors are all supported. Password fields are always ignored. ↩️ SAFE TO UNDO Corrections go through the browser's own editing pipeline, so Ctrl+Z puts your original text straight back — and modern web apps built on React, Vue or Angular stay in sync instead of losing the change. ⚙️ YOURS TO TUNE • Turn the floating button off and keep the right-click menu and shortcut • Change how long it waits after you stop typing • Change the minimum length before it offers itself (short notes stay quiet) • Switch it off per-site with one click from the toolbar popup 📋 NOT EDITABLE? STILL USEFUL Select text on a page you can't type into, right-click, and the corrected version lands on your clipboard. 🛡️ PERMISSIONS, PLAINLY The extension reads a field's text only when you ask it to — by tapping the button, choosing the menu item, or pressing Alt+G. It never reads pages in the background and never sends anything anywhere on its own. ℹ️ REQUIREMENTS The on-device model needs Chrome 138 or newer and a one-time download of about 2 GB, which starts the first time you use the extension. If your hardware can't run it, any of the free cloud options above covers you instead.
