Overview

GitHub Trending Projects - View today's trends and all-time rankings

Purpose and Core Functionality: GitHub Rank is a lightweight developer tool. Its single purpose is to display a tech dashboard inside the popup window for users to discover current GitHub trending repositories and top open-source projects. It has no background services or ad injections. Architecture and Manifest V3 Compliance: Pure Vanilla JS: Built with standard HTML5, CSS3, and un-obfuscated vanilla JavaScript. No bundlers or minifiers are used, keeping it 100 percent human-readable. No Dynamic Code: Strictly avoids eval, new Function, or dynamic runtime script injections. All scripts are package-local, complying with Manifest V3 CSP. Justification for Host Permission: The extension requires the single permission declared in manifest to fetch daily leaderboard JSON data from our secure endpoint, avoiding a bloated local database. It adheres to the minimum privilege principle and does not interact with any other websites visited by the user.
