What it does: • Summarizes the page you're on in one click • Summarizes just the text you highlight • Lets you ask follow-up questions about the page • Short, medium or detailed summaries • Copy, save as Markdown or email a summary • Keeps your recent summaries in a history list Fast to use: • Right-click a page or a selection and choose Summarize • Or press Ctrl+Shift+Y (Cmd+Shift+Y on Mac) on any page Private by default: On computers that support Chrome's built-in AI, everything runs on your own device. The page never leaves your computer, and there's no account or tracking. If your computer can't run Chrome's built-in AI, it still works: the page text is sent securely to a free cloud service to make the summary, then discarded. Nothing is stored and there's no account. Heavy users can add their own free API key in Settings for unlimited use. The panel always tells you which one was used.
