Look up similar words and pick the right one PHRASES TO START FROM • Everyday phrases across four levels, from first words to explaining a problem • Pick a level and a topic, read a phrase, recall the other side, and keep the ones worth keeping: a saved phrase joins your dictionary and its review schedule like any other • Mark what you already know, so a level narrows to what is genuinely new to you • Turn the card the other way round when recall gets too easy — see the meaning and recall the phrase • Levels are a guide, not a certification, and nothing here is a test REMEMBER WHAT YOU SAVE • Spaced repetition built on FSRS, the scheduler used by modern Anki — each word comes back just before you would forget it • Rate a word Again, Good or Easy, and the next date adjusts to you • A daily goal and a streak, with the number of words waiting shown on the toolbar icon • Set how many new words a day you are willing to take on, so a big dictionary never arrives all at once • Quick practice: a timed sixty-second round, for when you want speed instead of scheduling, with optional answer sounds • Hear a word pronounced, from a Wiktionary recording where one exists YOUR DICTIONARY • Search, sort, edit and delete your words • Filter by language when you study more than one • Read full Wiktionary definitions for any saved word, in the language of your choice • Where your device supports Chrome's built-in AI, get a plain-language explanation of a saved word — how it is formed, when to use it, with examples — created entirely on your device, while reviewing or from your dictionary • Export to tab-separated text • Your saved words follow you to every Chrome you are signed into PRIVACY No account, no sign-up, no analytics, no tracking, and no server of ours for your data to sit on. Your dictionary lives in your own Chrome storage. Being precise, because "private" is easy to overclaim: supported Chrome versions can translate on-device after the language model is downloaded. When on-device translation is unavailable or still being prepared, the selected word is sent to the fallback translation services. Definition and pronunciation lookups send the word to Wiktionary. Where your device supports it, the AI word explanation also runs entirely in Chrome and sends nothing. The included phrases ship inside the extension and are spoken by your device, so that part of the extension makes no requests at all. Nothing else leaves your browser, and none of it is tied to you. GOOD TO KNOW • Free, and not a trial • Around 1,300 words fit, a ceiling set by Chrome's sync storage quota, and phrases you save count towards it • Machine translation is a starting point, and you can edit any translation before saving • Your words sync; your review progress, streak, settings and phrase progress stay on the device that made them • The included phrases cover ten of the fifteen languages — if you translate outside those ten, that part offers you a covered pair instead • Highlighting does not reach text inside a page's embedded frames • Pronunciation depends on what your device and Wiktionary can offer, so it is not available for every word • The AI explanation appears only where Chrome's built-in model is already on your device — it never downloads it — so on other setups the feature simply does not appear SUPPORTED LANGUAGES Translation and your dictionary: English, Russian, Finnish, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Japanese, Polish, Turkish, Arabic, Chinese and Dutch.
