Never re-explain yourself to an AI again. You've done it a hundred times. You spend an hour getting ChatGPT to understand your project — the stack, the constraints, the way you like answers formatted. It finally gets good. Then the chat gets long and slow, or you switch to Claude because it's better at this task, or you simply open a new tab tomorrow. And it all starts from zero. Again. Every AI you use has amnesia, and their built-in memory features don't help each other. ChatGPT's memory doesn't work in Claude. Claude's doesn't work in Gemini. Whatever you build up inside one assistant is locked inside it — and it isn't even really yours. Vodou Bridge fixes this with one move: it takes the memory OUT of the AI and puts it somewhere permanent that you control — the Vodou app on your own computer. From there, it goes with you into whichever AI you open next. WHAT IT DOES Two things, deliberately simple. SAVE — turn chats into memory. On ChatGPT and Claude, click "Save what's here" and the conversation in front of you is stored in Vodou's memory on your machine. On any of the 22 supported sites, switch on background saving in the panel and chats are saved quietly as you have them — no clicking, no exporting, no copy-paste archaeology. Saving is off until you turn it on, and you control it per site. INSERT — bring memory into any chat. Press Ctrl+B and relevant memory lands in the message box of whatever AI you're using — as a normal draft you can read, edit, or delete before sending. Prefer to choose by hand? Open the panel, search your memory, tick exactly what you want, insert. Nothing is added invisibly, and nothing is sent for you. If you would rather not press anything, there is a switch for that — off until you turn it on. With auto-attach on, sending a message pauses for a moment, adds relevant memory to the bottom of it, and sends it for you. That one is Vodou acting on your behalf, on the sites you already have it switched on for, and it says so on the switch. That's the whole trick. Save from anywhere. Insert into anywhere. The memory in the middle belongs to you. WHAT THAT FEELS LIKE • Open a fresh Claude chat, press Ctrl+B, and it already knows your stack, your preferences, and the decision you made yesterday in ChatGPT. • Ask a brand-new AI a question about your own life — your dog's name, your coffee order, the client you keep mentioning — and instead of "I don't have information about that," it answers. • Retire the notes file of things you paste into every new chat. That file is what the panel is for, except it's searchable and one keystroke away. • Switch AI tools the moment a better one ships, without abandoning months of accumulated context. Your memory is not hostage to any one vendor. WHO IT'S FOR People who use more than one AI. Developers who moved to Claude for code but keep ChatGPT for everything else. Writers who draft in one tool and research in another. Anyone doing real work across assistants — which is exactly who loses the most to AI amnesia. People who start a lot of new chats. Long threads get slow, models get updated, old conversations rot. If your workflow is "new chat, re-explain, work, abandon," the re-explain step is the one this deletes. WHO HOLDS YOUR MEMORY You do. It lives in the Vodou app on your own computer — not in our cloud, because there isn't one. No account to create inside the extension, no subscription sitting between you and your own memories, no analytics, nothing phoning home. And nothing is shared without you. When you insert a memory into a chat, it goes to exactly one place: the AI you chose to give it to — as a draft you read first, or, if you switched auto-attach on, as part of the message you were already sending. Different AIs can know different things about you — you decide what each one gets, and whether it happens by hand. One small download, stated plainly: the extension fetches a settings file from policy.vodou.ai listing which sites saving is currently switched on for, so we can turn a site off quickly if a site asks us to. It is a download only — it sends nothing about you, your machine, or your chats. ONE MORE THING, IF YOU WANT IT The Vodou app on your computer is more than a place to keep memory — it can do the work. Press Ctrl+Shift+Y in any supported chat and what you typed goes to your own Vodou to answer, instead of to the AI in front of you. The answer arrives in your draft. If you've moved on by then, a notification brings it to you rather than letting it vanish. It runs on your machine, it only happens when you press the shortcut, and it reads by default — letting it send, post or create anything is a separate switch in Settings that starts off. THE PANEL Click the Vodou icon in your toolbar and a panel opens beside your chat. Four tabs: • Memory — search everything you've saved; tick what you want and insert it. • Ask — talk to your own Vodou without leaving the page you're on. • Activity — a plain log of exactly what was saved and what was inserted, so you never have to wonder what the extension did. • Settings — which sites saving is on for, pairing with your local Vodou, and everything else. SHORTCUTS (Mac users: these are the Control key, not Command) Ctrl+Shift+M — open or close the panel Ctrl+B — add relevant memory to this chat Ctrl+Shift+B — add memory visibly to the message box Ctrl+Shift+Y — hand what you typed to your own Vodou instead You can also select any text on a supported page, right-click, and choose "Send selection to Vodou memory." WORKS ON 22 AI CHAT SITES ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and 19 others. The full list is in the extension's side panel, under Settings, where each site has its own on/off switch. Insert works on all of them. The one-click Save button appears on ChatGPT and Claude — the two sites where a whole loaded conversation can be read reliably. Everywhere else, background saving covers you once you switch it on. The extension runs only on these sites and on your local Vodou. It does not request access to all websites. COMMON QUESTIONS "Is this another memory subscription?" No. There is no account and no fee in this extension, and your memories are not stored on anyone's servers. Other memory tools sync your context through their cloud and charge rent for access to it; here, the memory is a database on your own disk. If you stop using Vodou tomorrow, your data is still just there, on your machine. "Will it write or send things in my chats?" Not unless you switch auto-attach on. By default, inserting places a draft in the message box: you read it, edit it, and press send yourself — or delete it. Auto-attach is the exception: one switch in Settings, off until you turn it on, and with it on Vodou appends memory to your message and sends it for you. The Activity tab records every insert either way, so you can verify what happened. "Does it watch my browsing?" No. It runs only on the AI sites listed above, and saving is off until you switch it on. It has no access to other tabs and does not request access to all websites. "What happens if Vodou isn't running?" Nothing. The extension talks to the Vodou app on your computer; if the app is closed, the extension simply sits idle. BEFORE YOU INSTALL This extension is a bridge, not a standalone product. It needs the free Vodou app installed and running on your computer — that app is the memory. Start at app.vodou.ai. We think that's the only way a privacy claim means anything.
