Overview

Warns before you send SSNs, card numbers or bank details, and about wire-fraud in mail you receive. Scans locally.

Office Guard Email DLP watches your email in both directions, inside Gmail, Outlook.com and Yahoo Mail. It warns you before you send a message containing sensitive data — and it warns you when a message you've just opened shows the pattern of a fraud attempt. Both happen in the page, as you work, with no change to how you use email. BEFORE YOU SEND Office Guard checks your draft for Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, bank routing and account numbers, SWIFT/BIC codes, driver's license and passport numbers, dates of birth, bank names and addresses, and wire transfer instructions. Wire details are treated as the top priority, because wire fraud targeting real estate closings is one of the most costly email attacks there is. Every warning has a "Send anyway" option. Office Guard never blocks an email — it pauses to check that a sensitive message is deliberate, then respects your decision. WHEN MAIL ARRIVES That same wire fraud arrives by email, and it arrives looking ordinary. Office Guard puts a banner above a message when it sees: Payment or wire instructions that have changed — the single most common form this fraud takes, and one that usually contains no numbers at all, just a sentence saying the account details are different now. A payment request pushed with urgency — details combined with pressure to act today, immediately, or before closing. A request for identity documents — someone asking you to email a Social Security number, driver's license, passport or date of birth. A sender address that doesn't look right — a domain closely resembling another one already in the conversation, or a display name that disagrees with the address behind it. These checks are deliberately narrow. They look for the shape of a fraud attempt, not for sensitive data in general — you receive account numbers and dates of birth legitimately every day, and warning you about those would be noise you'd learn to ignore. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR DEVICE Every scan runs on your own computer. Nothing you write and nothing you receive is sent to Office Guard, to a third party, or to any server. That isn't a policy promise — there is no network request the scanning code could make. The single exception is one you choose: clicking "Encrypt this instead" hands your draft to our encryption page so you don't have to retype it, and the message is encrypted in your browser before anything is sent. MADE THE WAY YOU WANT IT Three sensitivity levels — Notify only, Balanced, or Strict — control how often you're asked to confirm rather than simply shown a quiet heads-up. Any individual check can be switched off, on either the sending or the receiving side. WHO IT'S FOR Real estate agents, attorneys, accountants, and anyone who emails financial or personal information for a living — who can't afford one mistaken send, or one convincing email that isn't what it claims to be.
