)Overview
Click icon, then draw a box in any frame to select and copy text within that frame.
Copy text by drawing a box around it. Freeform Text Copy lets you select a rectangular area of a webpage and copy the text inside it directly to your clipboard. It’s useful for columns, tables, and complex layouts where ordinary text selection grabs unwanted content. HOW TO USE 1. Click the Freeform Text Copy extension icon. 2. Click and drag to draw a box around the text you want. 3. Release the mouse button to copy, then paste wherever you need. You can also select text inside supported embedded frames. Each selection stays within the page or frame where you start drawing. PRESERVE SPACING Hold Alt while selecting to approximate the original columns and spacing using extra spaces. The selection box turns green when this option is active. To enable it by default, turn on “Preserve page layout” in the extension options. Copied content is plain text. Spacing is best viewed in a monospace font; fonts, colors, and rich formatting are not preserved. Press Escape at any time to cancel a selection.
