gnibs turns the whole web into one shared margin. Every site has its own comment section — and your notes are trapped inside each one. gnibs is the comment layer that sits on top of all of them. Highlight a sentence, pin a note, drop a reaction, plant a flag on a page nobody's touched yet — right on the live page you're already reading. Your marks live in the gnibs layer, so they travel with you from site to site instead of dying in someone else's database. ── What you can do ── • Highlight any text and attach a note, right where you're reading — no copy-paste, no switching tabs. • Leave a page-level note when the whole page is the point. • Drop reaction stamps and stickers exactly where they land. • See public gnibs other people have left on the same page, threaded with replies and votes. • Turn the noise up or down: show everyone's marks, just your friends', just your own, or none. • Summon a panel listing every gnib on the page, and export the lot to Markdown or W3C annotation JSON — your notes are yours to take with you. ── Works where other annotators give up ── gnibs runs on the real page in your own tab, so it works on the sites you're actually logged into — including JavaScript-heavy apps and feeds that proxy-based tools can't touch. No reload, no re-hosting, no copy of the page. Just your page, plus the marks. ── Built to get out of the way ── gnibs is an overlay, never a sidebar. The page stays full-width and exactly as it was; gnibs appears only when you summon it and disappears the moment you press Esc. Open it with the toolbar button or Alt+Shift+G (Ctrl+Shift+G on Windows/Linux). Once it's open it follows you from page to page until you dismiss it. ── Private by default where it counts ── Your login stays on gnibs.com. The extension never sees your password, and the page you're annotating never sees your account — annotations are saved through gnibs' backend, not leaked to the site you're on. Public gnibs are public; private gnibs are visible only to you. You decide per note. ── Free, with Pro on the way ── Everything above is free — the network only works if everyone can write to it.
