Overview
In-place grammar and spelling for the field you are typing in. Accept fixes without leaving the page.
Proofread Bot checks grammar and spelling in the text field you are already using. Issues are underlined on the page. Click a mark to Accept or Ignore — no new tab, and your text stays where you wrote it. How to use it 1. Sign in with Google from the toolbar icon, or right-click in a field and choose “Sign in and check with Proofread Bot”. 2. Click in an email, chat, or form field (Gmail, Messenger, and most sites). 3. Right-click the field or selected text → Check with Proofread Bot. Shortcut: Alt+Shift+P. 4. Orange underlines appear on clear mistakes. Click one, then Accept to apply the fix in place, or Ignore. 5. If you click away or reload, use “Show saved highlights” (toolbar, gray Show chip, or the right-click menu) to bring the marks back. This version no longer opens proofreadbot.com in a new tab. Checking happens on the page. Notes • Google Docs is not covered here — use the Proofread Bot Docs add-on. • Sign-in is required so checks can run against your Proofread Bot account. • Highlights are stored in this browser for a short time so you can restore them on the same field.
