Drive Markdown Preview

Render Markdown files privately inside Proton Drive previews.

Read Markdown files as formatted documents directly in Proton Drive. Drive Markdown Preview turns Proton Drive's plaintext .md and .markdown previews into clean, readable documents. Headings, lists, task lists, tables, links, blockquotes, inline code, and fenced code blocks are rendered in place. Use the compact Rendered / Raw control in the preview header to switch back to Proton Drive's original plaintext view at any time. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Markdown rendering happens locally in your browser. File names and file contents are never transmitted or stored by the extension. There is no backend, analytics, advertising, tracking, telemetry, or account. Remote images and unsafe embedded content are blocked. The extension runs only on drive.proton.me and requests no general Chrome permissions. NATIVE AND REVERSIBLE The extension preserves Proton Drive's existing preview, including its native raw-text editing behavior. Closing the preview or changing files removes the extension UI and restores the original view. CURRENT SUPPORT Proton Drive is supported in this release. Google Drive support is planned but is not included yet. Drive Markdown Preview is an independent extension and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Proton AG.
