Download ChatGPT read-aloud audio directly from assistant messages.

A focused browser extension that adds a **Download audio** action to ChatGPT assistant messages. It reuses the authenticated request context already created by ChatGPT's read-aloud feature and saves the streamed audio locally. This project is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI. ChatGPT is a trademark of OpenAI. ## Features - Adds one download action to each completed assistant response. - Captures ChatGPT request headers and fetch settings in page memory only. - Shows percentage progress when ChatGPT exposes a total size, otherwise downloaded bytes. - Retries interrupted streams with HTTP range requests when the endpoint supports them. - Saves received bytes as a clearly marked partial file if a stream cannot be resumed. - Uses no analytics, external servers, remote code, or persistent extension storage. ## Usage 1. Open a ChatGPT conversation. 2. Use ChatGPT's **Read aloud** action once so the page creates an authenticated backend request. 3. Click **Download audio** below the assistant message you want to save. 4. Keep the tab open until the browser download begins. The extension downloads audio directly from `chatgpt.com`. Long downloads show progress and attempt to resume after a recoverable network interruption. ## Permissions And Privacy The extension is limited to `chatgpt.com` and the legacy `chat.openai.com` host. Request metadata is retained only in the current page's memory and is never written to extension storage or sent to a third party. See [PRIVACY_POLICY.md](PRIVACY_POLICY.md) for the complete disclosure. ## Known Constraints - ChatGPT's synthesize endpoint is private and can change without notice. - A download requires a valid signed-in ChatGPT session and request context. - Resume depends on ChatGPT accepting `Range` requests; otherwise the received portion is saved as a `.partial` file.
