Conversation Optimizer for ChatGPT (CGO) is a Chrome extension focused on exporting, preserving, and revisiting long conversations from ChatGPT Web. ChatGPT Web now loads large conversation histories page by page. CGO works with this format by gradually collecting older messages while the browser is idle and retrieving any remaining history when an export starts. The collected message count is displayed while additional conversation data is being loaded. For conversations using the current paginated format, CGO leaves ChatGPT’s rendered messages untouched and focuses on creating useful local exports. Because ChatGPT Web now manages long histories through pagination, that earlier DOM optimization is retained only as compatibility support for legacy response formats. The extension runs locally in your browser, uses your active ChatGPT Web session, and does not require an OpenAI developer API key or a separate CGO account. Export results depend on the data and files available from ChatGPT Web. Some images or attachments may not be recoverable because of expired links, access restrictions, unsupported formats, or ChatGPT-side issues.
