Overview

Hide sensitive data while live streaming or screen sharing. Blur elements, columns, or rows. Local only, no tracking.

``` Privacy Blur is the fastest way to hide sensitive information on your screen while you live stream, record, or share your screen on a call. Whether you're demoing a dashboard on Twitch or YouTube, sharing your screen in a Zoom, Meet, or Teams meeting, or recording a tutorial, one slip can expose emails, API keys, customer names, account balances, or private messages to everyone watching. Privacy Blur lets you blur those areas ahead of time so they stay hidden — automatically, every time you open the page. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHAT YOU CAN BLUR ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Single element — click any element on the page (an email field, a balance, a name) and blur just that. • Similar elements — blur every element that matches, so a whole list or column of the same type is hidden at once. • A column — drag to cover a vertical strip. It stays private while you scroll down through rows, which is perfect for spreadsheets. • A row — drag to cover a horizontal strip. It stays private while you scroll sideways. • The whole page — hide everything with one click when you need to switch context on-stream. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WORKS WHERE OTHER BLUR TOOLS DON'T ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Apps like Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Figma draw their content on a canvas, so individual cells aren't normal web elements and can't be clicked to blur. Privacy Blur's column and row bands solve this: drag a band over the sensitive column and it blurs whatever is behind it — including canvas content — and stays put while you scroll through your data. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ BUILT FOR CREATORS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • On-page control panel — a clean, light control panel slides out on the page. No hunting through menus. • Adjustable blur strength — from a light frost to a heavy blur. • Per-site control — enable or disable blur for the current site with one switch. • Master switch — turn the whole extension off everywhere instantly, then back on. • Remembers your setup — your blur rules are saved per website and reapply automatically every time you return, so you're protected before you hit "Go Live." • Backup and restore — export all your rules and settings to a local JSON file, and import them on another machine or after a reinstall. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PRIVATE BY DESIGN ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • 100% local. Everything is stored in your browser only. • No account or sign-in. • No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking. • No network requests — your rules and browsing never leave your device. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HOW TO USE ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 1. Click the Privacy Blur toolbar icon and choose "Open the on-page control panel." 2. Pick what to hide: Select one element, Select similar elements, Blur a column, Blur a row, or Blur the whole page. 3. Adjust blur strength to taste. 4. Start your stream or screen share — the blur is already in place and reapplies on every visit. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Privacy Blur is a visual aid, not a security control. It hides content on screen so viewers don't see it, but it does NOT prevent copying, page scripts, or data that the website has already sent or received. A screen band blurs a fixed area of the screen: a column stays hidden while you scroll vertically and a row while you scroll horizontally, but no tool can make a blur follow one specific cell in a canvas app. Always double-check your screen before going live. ``` ---
