ZenithTab - New Tab Dashboard

A customizable new tab dashboard: drag-and-drop widgets, bookmarks, news, weather, calendar, habits and dynamic wallpapers.

ZenithTab turns the new tab page into a workspace you arrange yourself. Search, your favourite sites, weather, news, today's events, tasks and notes — put the things you check every day on one screen, and they are waiting every time you open a tab. Everything is stored on your own computer, and there is no account to create. ■ Ready in three questions The first time you open it, pick your language and region, the topics you care about, and what the tab is for. ZenithTab then lays out popular sites for your region, news on your topics and a set of widgets to match. Every question can be skipped, everything can be changed later, and you can run the setup again from the settings (a backup is taken first). ■ A free grid, on as many pages as you like Drag widgets anywhere and grab a corner to resize them; the layout holds on a laptop screen and on an external monitor alike. Split widgets across pages — start one empty, duplicate the current page, or pick a template (Work, Study, News, Minimal) — and switch with a click or Ctrl+Alt+←/→. ■ Unified search bar Switch in one click between web search, code repository search, video search, AI assistants and more. Adding a destination is as simple as picking it from the built-in catalog, organised into web search, AI assistants, video, shopping, maps and reference, developer tools and social, with regional options for every language. Anything not in the catalog can still be added with a name and a search URL. Star the one you want as the default and remove the ones you don't use. Press "/" anywhere to jump into the search field. ■ Smart answers in the search bar Get the answer before you even search: calculations (120*1.1), percentages, unit conversions (10 km to mi), number bases, dice, coin flips, random numbers, picking from a list, days until a date, the date some days from now, the day of the week, and the current time in cities around the world. Type "?" to see examples. ■ Shortcuts, Quick Dock and App Drawer Keep the sites you use most as tiles and open them in one click. Add them from a regional site catalog, import them from your Chrome bookmarks or most-visited sites, or simply drag a link in. A Quick Dock stays visible at the bottom (or top) of the screen, and the App Drawer filters your saved sites by category and searches them by name. ■ Keyboard shortcuts Bind any link to a key combination and open it without touching the mouse. The built-in shortcuts (jump to search, switch pages, undo/redo) are listed in the settings. ■ Today at a glance A single line at the top shows your open tasks, today's events and the nearest countdown. ■ Widgets - Bookmarks: browse your Chrome bookmarks folder by folder and filter them by name - News / RSS: follow news by topic or keyword, pick feeds from a regional catalog, or add any RSS/Atom feed - Weather: set a city by name or detect your location; temperature, feels-like, wind, humidity and a three-day forecast - Calendar: paste the iCal (.ics) link from your calendar service to see the coming days' events, with several colour-coded calendars and all-day and recurring events - Tasks: a simple checklist - Quick notes: auto-saving notes, split into pages (tabs) - Focus timer: a Pomodoro cycle of 25-minute focus sessions and breaks - Habit tracker: tick off daily habits and see your streak and the last seven days - Countdown: days left until a birthday, a trip, an exam or a deadline, with yearly repeats - Quick Access: open your most-visited sites or restore recently closed tabs in one click - Clock: digital, analog or minimal, in any time zone - QR code: turn a URL, phone number or text into a QR code, generated on your device - Web embed: show a web page that allows embedding as a widget ■ Undo, trash and backups Every delete and layout change can be undone right away (Ctrl+Z). Deleted widgets and pages stay in the trash for 30 days, and a backup of the whole dashboard is taken automatically before a reset or an import. ■ Share and move your setup Turn the current page's layout into a short share code or a QR code to hand to someone else or another computer. Notes, tasks, habit history, calendar links, countdowns and your weather location are left out. The full configuration can be exported to and imported from JSON. ■ Optional settings sync Turn it on to keep your appearance, Dock and keyboard shortcuts the same on every Chrome signed in to your account. It uses Chrome's own account sync, never a server of ours. It is off by default, and widgets, notes and other content are never synced. ■ Dynamic wallpapers and a glass look Choose from curated collections (cosmos, nature, minimal, architecture, abstract, cyberpunk), gradients or your own image. Sliders set the blur, brightness and dimming, and the time-of-day mode changes the wallpaper through morning, day, sunset and night. On a light wallpaper, text switches to a dark colour so it stays readable. ■ Seven languages English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, French, German and Korean. ■ Local-first Your layout, notes and settings live in chrome.storage.local on your machine. ZenithTab has no backend of its own, no analytics, no ads and no trackers. Its only outbound requests fetch the weather for the location you chose and its place name, the news, feeds and calendars (iCal) you set up, and wallpaper images, plus loading the pages you embed. If you turn on the optional settings sync, that data travels through Chrome's account sync. The privacy policy spells this out in full.
