When you open a website, the extension compares the current domain with the saved local protection database. If a match is found, the website is blocked and a warning page is shown. The extension does not claim to replace a full antivirus product. It is a browser-level website protection helper focused on known dangerous domains and phishing URLs. Protection sources Gursoft Web Security can use public malware, hacked-site, phishing and DNS blocklist sources. These lists are downloaded by the extension and stored locally for website checks. Privacy Gursoft Web Security is designed to work locally in the browser. It does not require an account and does not ask users to submit personal information. The extension checks website domains against saved protection lists and downloads updated public list files when needed. Important note No security tool can detect every dangerous website.
