Overview
Convert WebP to JPG, or save any image as PNG, AVIF or PDF. Pick the folder and filename. No image leaves your device.
Save any image on the web in the format you actually want - JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, or PDF - straight from the right-click menu. No more screenshots, no more "this site only gives me WebP." This is a separate extension, built from scratch by Yuke LLC. It is not connected to the original Save Image As Type that was removed in March 2026. HOW IT WORKS Right-click any image, pick your format, done. The image is converted on your own device and saved. ALREADY DOWNLOADED THE FILE? Open the converter page from the toolbar popup and drop files straight onto it - no web page to right-click needed. That .webp already sitting in your Downloads folder is one drag away from a .jpg. Paste works too: press Ctrl+V or Cmd+V and a screenshot that was never a file becomes one. Drop one file or a whole folder's worth at once; several files come back as a single ZIP. Nothing is uploaded: the conversion runs on your device exactly as it does on a web page, and there is no server involved. REAL CONVERSION, NOT A RENAMED FILE The image is genuinely re-encoded by your browser's own graphics engine - not just handed a new file extension. A file saved as a JPEG really is one inside, so it opens in Photoshop, Office, Preview, and anything else you throw it at. CONVERT WHILE YOU SAVE - WebP to JPG - the most common reason people install this - AVIF to JPG or PNG - PNG to JPG, with transparency flattened onto a clean white background - GIF and BMP into something the rest of your software will actually open - SVG rasterized into a real pixel image - Anything to WebP or AVIF for smaller files Works on regular images, CSS background images, and video posters. OR TAKE THE ORIGINAL, UNTOUCHED "Save original file" writes the bytes the page served with no conversion at all, so an animated GIF stays animated, an SVG stays vector, and a HEIC stays a HEIC. When a batch save meets an animated image it writes both by default - the format you asked for and the untouched original - and you can tell it to keep only the original instead, or to convert anyway. SAVE THE PAGE ITSELF, NOT JUST ITS IMAGES Right-click the page background and save the visible area, a region you drag out, or the whole page scrolled top to bottom and joined together. A capture goes through everything below exactly as a saved image does: your format, your quality, your filename, your folder. A long page can be split across PDF pages rather than becoming one endless one. Before a full-page capture starts, a three-second notice says what is about to happen, because the page is going to scroll itself and grabbing the scrollbar mid-capture is what spoils the result. SAVE WHERE YOU ACTUALLY WANT Pick a folder once and every save lands there, with no dialog and no digging back through Downloads. Your browser hands the extension a reference to that one folder and nothing else - not a path it can read, not a list of what is inside, and no access to anything outside it. Browsers drop the permission behind it when you restart, so the extension asks for one click to restore it and falls back to Downloads until you do. Prefer the dialog? Leave it on, and it reopens where you last saved. Prefer neither? Turn the picker off and files go straight to your Downloads folder with no prompt at all. ONE-CLICK SAVING Set a default format in settings and a single "Save Image as JPG" entry appears at the top level of your right-click menu. No submenu to hover open, no waiting - one click and it is saved. Bind a keyboard shortcut in your browser's shortcut settings and you can skip the menu entirely: one keystroke saves the largest image on the page in your default format, without touching the mouse. YOUR FILENAMES ARE KEPT Saves as "sunset-photo.jpg", not "download.png". Add an optional timestamp so repeated saves never overwrite each other, or build your own filename from placeholders for the original name, the site, the date, a counter, and the image's own alt text or title - often the most descriptive words a page has for a picture whose file is called "img_0042". SAVE AS PDF Turn any image into a one-page PDF, sized exactly to the image - no forced Letter page, no white margin around it - or fit it to a printable A4 page if you prefer. Most JPEGs are embedded unchanged, with nothing re-compressed, so the PDF is pixel-for-pixel the original (metadata aside - see below). The usual approach is to push the image back through the browser's encoder on the way into the PDF, which re-compresses it and costs you quality for nothing. Rotated, progressive, and CMYK JPEGs are converted first, as is anything that is not a JPEG, at the quality you set. QUALITY YOU CONTROL Independent quality sliders for JPG, WebP, and AVIF, so you decide the trade-off between file size and crisp text and edges. SHRINK BIG IMAGES ON THE WAY OUT Set a maximum width and height and oversized images are scaled down as they save. Off by default, and images are never scaled up - a small image stays exactly as it is. Picking a size while you are looking at one image overrides that maximum for that save. BATCH SAVE Open the toolbar popup to grab every image on a page at once, in the format you choose, packaged into a single ZIP. Filter the list by format or by size first, so "every WebP on this page as JPG" is two clicks. The toolbar badge counts down while it runs, so you can close the popup and go and do something else. No cap, no paywall. COPY TO CLIPBOARD Copy any image as a PNG straight to your clipboard, for pasting into chats, documents, and remote desktop sessions. This is the only thing clipboard access is used for. SAVE BUTTONS ON HOVER, IF YOU WANT THEM Optional buttons drawn over an image so you can save or copy without opening a menu. Off by default, and when they are on you can switch them off on named sites, or under an image size you choose, so they never land on top of a site's own controls. METADATA IS DROPPED ON SAVE EXIF metadata is discarded on save, including GPS coordinates and camera serial numbers, so you are not unintentionally sharing where a photo was taken. PRIVACY-FIRST, BY DESIGN - All conversion runs locally in your browser. Images never leave your device, and there is no conversion server for them to be uploaded to. - No affiliate-link injection. No injected ads. No selling data. - No nagging: at most two small prompts ever, each permanently dismissible. - Anonymous, opt-out usage analytics only (which formats are used, error counts, and the bare hostname of a site when a conversion fails) - never your images, full URLs, or browsing history. - When something breaks, Settings can show you a log of recent failures to copy into a bug report. It holds failures only, reduces every address to a bare hostname, never reaches your disk, and is sent nowhere - you copy it and decide where it goes. WORKS IN INCOGNITO Enable it for incognito windows in your browser's extension settings and it works there too. Saves made in a private window are never written to the extension's own save history. MAINTAINED Browsers change, and a converter that is not kept up with them quietly stops working. This one is actively updated. This is a clean, trustworthy replacement for the original "Save Image As Type" that was removed for malware. Same convenience, none of the abuse. Free, and supported by donations.
