Gmail Filter by Sender & Subject + Mark as Read
Overview
Select emails in Gmail, edit the subject, and create a mark-as-read filter for that sender, or for the sender only.
Select one or more emails in Gmail and click the toolbar button. For each selected email, a dialog opens with that subject filled in. Edit the text before you create the filter. Gmail matches the subject as "contains this text," so shorten a one-off subject (a name, a price, a date) to the part that stays the same. • OK creates a filter for that sender and the text left in the box. Mail that arrives later from that sender, with a subject containing that text, is marked as read. • Filter without subject creates a filter for that sender only. Every new email from that address is marked as read, whatever the subject is. • Cancel stops. Any other emails you selected are left alone. The email you acted on is marked read now. Mail already sitting in the inbox is not changed. The filter applies to mail that arrives afterward. If several emails are selected, the dialog opens once for each one. These are normal Gmail filters. You can review or delete them in Gmail Settings, under Filters and Blocked Addresses. The extension uses your Google account through Gmail's API. It does not store message contents.
