Overview

Highlights English and Spanish tenses in YouTube captions: a tense map of the whole video, the current line and a live tense table.

Grammar books explain tenses with made-up sentences. Tense Lens shows them in the YouTube videos you already watch, in English and now in Spanish. Open any video with English or Spanish captions and Tense Lens adds: • The line being spoken, with every verb form highlighted and labeled: Present Perfect, Past Continuous, Future Simple and the rest. • A live table of all 12 English tenses, plus "be going to" and modal verbs, that counts how often each one appears. • A tense map of the whole video. Click a cell, a row or a column to see only that tense, then jump between its lines with ◀ Prev / Next ▶. New: Spanish • The language is detected automatically from the video. Spanish videos get a Spanish tense table. • See the two Spanish past tenses side by side: pretérito indefinido (hablé) and imperfecto (hablaba). • Conditional (hablaría), ir a + infinitivo and the subjuntivo are highlighted too. Why it helps • You hear when native speakers choose Present Perfect over Past Simple, or "will" over "going to", in real speech. • The formula and the meaning of each tense are always one glance away. • Works with vlogs, interviews, TED talks, lessons and series: anything with captions, written by the author or auto-generated. Good for • Learners of English or Spanish from A2 to C1 who want grammar to stick. • Teachers looking for real examples of a tense in a video for class. Private by design • Captions are read from the YouTube page and analyzed in your browser. They are never sent anywhere. • No account, no ads. Free. Only anonymous usage counts are collected (no captions, videos or personal data); see https://tense-lens.com/privacy No video on hand? Try it on the website first: https://tense-lens.com
