The bookmark tool that actually treats them as data. Most bookmark managers are folder explorers. Bookmarks Doctor Ultimate is a full-text search engine over your library — regex and glob queries, smart-date grouping, pin-to-top, drag-to-reorder, a "Popular" view from your own history, parallel URL validation with per-row status, and conservative bulk-pruning of dead links. Local, private, no accounts, nothing loaded from the internet. ▸ TOOLBAR POPUP — INSTANT • Opens instantly: no network requests, no history scans on open. • Quick find with the same query syntax as the manager (substring, *.glob, /regex/), grouped by smart date, endless scroll. • Keyboard: ↓ / ↑ move through results, Enter opens the highlighted one; Enter with nothing highlighted opens the manager with your query already typed. • Middle-click opens in a background tab and keeps the popup open. • Right-click a result: Pin / Unpin, Edit, Copy URL, Check URL, Delete. • "All" / "Popular" views — Popular sorts by how often you visited each bookmark (from your browsing history; counted on demand, cached, refreshed in the background). ▸ FULL-TEXT SEARCH • Plain substring search across title and URL. • Glob support — type *.com to match anything ending in ".com". • Regex support — wrap in slashes: /github\.com\/.*\/issues/i • "Show only broken" toggle to focus the list on failing URLs. ▸ PIN, DRAG, EDIT • Pin to top: pinned bookmarks always lead every view and get their own "Pinned" group. Cosmetic only — Chrome's folders are untouched. • Drag to reorder: drag a row and drop it where you want it (popup, or the manager when sorted by date). The row is re-dated to sit in that slot, so it stays there. The dragged row is dimmed, a bold insert line shows exactly where it will land, and a card with the title follows the cursor. • Edit title or URL in place, with "Keep original date" on by default. ▸ GROUP THE WAY YOU THINK • Smart date — Today / Yesterday / Earlier this week / Last week / Earlier this month / Last month / per-month for current year / per-year for older. • By domain, folder, year, month, or day. ▸ SORT • Newest / oldest first, title A↔Z, domain A→Z, URL A→Z. ▸ VALIDATE WITH NO FALSE POSITIVES • Parallel requests with configurable concurrency and timeout (5–50 simultaneous, 3–30 sec). HEAD by default, GET selectable; automatically retries with GET when a server rejects HEAD. • Per-row live status: Checking… → Approved / Unverified / Failed. • Three-way classification, on purpose: only a server that does not answer at all (DNS failure, connection refused, TLS error, timeout) counts as Failed. Any HTTP answer — 404, 410, auth-blocked, rate-limited, anti-bot, 5xx — is Unverified, because a logged-out 404 is not proof the page is gone. Unverified rows are never auto-selected for deletion. • One-click Retry on any failed or unverified row. • Stop button aborts the run mid-flight; in-flight fetches cancel. • Validates the current filter only; asks first above 500 URLs. ▸ SAFE BULK ACTIONS • Multi-select with checkboxes — every selection is reversible. • "Select broken" adds confirmed-failed URLs to the selection; click again to deselect them. Same for "Select all visible". • "Delete selected" requires confirmation, plus a second confirmation above 50 items. • Stop button aborts bulk deletion mid-flight; the toast reports exactly how many were deleted before the abort. • Open selected in tabs (background or focused — your choice); asks first above 20 tabs. ▸ IMPORT / EXPORT • Export your full library — or just the selected rows — to a single JSON file (titles, URLs, dates, folder paths). • Import with four merge modes: Append, Skip duplicates, Override duplicates (replace existing entries with the same URL), or Replace all. Each destructive mode confirms the exact count before touching your bookmarks. • Original "Added" dates survive the import, so a library moved to another computer keeps its real history. ▸ ALWAYS CURRENT • The manager refreshes itself when bookmarks are added, removed, edited or moved anywhere in Chrome, and picks up settings changes from the Settings tab without a reload. ▸ PAGINATION • Loads the first 100 (configurable 50–1,000) with "Load more" / "Show all" — keeps the page fast even with 50,000 bookmarks. ▸ SETTINGS • Page size, default grouping, default sort, validation concurrency, timeout and method (HEAD / GET), focus-or-background for "Open selected". ▸ TOOLBAR ICON • Click to open the popup search. • Right-click for "Open bookmark manager" or "Settings". ▸ PRIVACY • No data collected, transmitted, or shared. • No accounts, no tracking, no remote servers — fonts are bundled, so even the UI loads nothing from the internet. • URL validation requests go directly from your browser to the destination server, exactly as if you visited the bookmark. • "Popular" reads your own browsing history locally; it never leaves the browser. • Settings sync via Chrome sync; pins, adjusted dates and the visit-count cache stay on this computer.
