Save to Scienze is the browser companion for Scienze (https://scienze.co.uk), a reading tool built for PhDs, researchers, and students. When you find a paper online, save it from the page you are already on. Open Scienze afterwards and it is ready to import — no copy-pasting URLs. Scienze helps you read scientific papers faster. Upload a PDF, paste a URL, or open a paper from this extension, and Scienze turns it into a card-by-card reading experience. You swipe through the title, abstract, sections, and figures, and swipe left on any card for a plain-language AI explanation of paragraphs, equations, or figures. Your reading follows your account across platforms. This extension is the save button and queue for that workflow. Papers land in your Scienze queue, and when you open Scienze you can import them when you are ready. Optional auto-import can start the next saved paper automatically. Sign in with your Scienze account, including “Connect with Scienze” if you use Google sign-in on the website. Saving stores the link only, so it is instant. The paper is fetched and parsed when you open it in Scienze, using the same pipeline as pasting a URL in the app. It works especially well with open-access and repository links such as arXiv, bioRxiv, medRxiv, and PMC. It is built for researchers collecting papers while browsing, students building a reading queue during lit reviews, and anyone who already uses Scienze and wants a simple “save this” button for the web. We only save URLs you explicitly choose to save. Your Scienze session is stored locally in the extension so you stay signed in. The extension talks to Scienze and your account backend to queue papers and authenticate — it does not scrape unrelated browsing history, and it does not load remote code. Notes: this extension works on Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, and similar). Paywalled PDFs behave the same as when you paste a link into Scienze — the server cannot use your institutional browser login, so open-access and repository PDFs work best.
