Kokoy is an English-based creole spoken in the northeast villages of Dominica, including Marigot, Wesley, Woodford Hill, and Clifton. Brought to the island by English-speaking laborers from Antigua and Montserrat in the 19th century, it blends English vocabulary with West African linguistic structure, and despite once being dismissed as a lower-status dialect, it lives on in local folktales, proverbs, and music. This extension is a searchable dictionary built to help preserve it. Word of the Day surfaces one entry daily from the current 217-word dictionary, with a one-tap copy button. Kokoy has no single official spelling system, and this dictionary is a living document, not a finished reference.
