Look up any Japanese word in seconds. Collect words as you read, and actually use them. KanjiDraw turns any Japanese page into study material. It marks the words you are learning wherever you meet them, and gives you the reading and meaning of anything else in one click, without leaving the page. SEE WHAT YOU KNOW Installing asks for nothing. The first time you open the extension it offers to switch marking on, for the site you are on or for every site, and you can change or withdraw that at any time. Every word from your kanjidraw.com vocabulary is marked wherever you read Japanese: underlined, or washed in highlighter, whichever you prefer. Three colours tell you where each word stands: one for a word you have only just started on, one for a word you are learning, one for a word you have learned. Matching follows inflection, so a saved 覚える marks 覚えました, 面白い marks 面白かった, and 勉強 marks 勉強して. Words split by furigana or written another way (入口 for 入り口) are found too. LOOK ANYTHING UP Shift+click any Japanese word, marked or not, for its reading and meaning right there on the page. Clicking the middle of a compound still resolves the whole word. Select a phrase and tap Shift to look up exactly what you selected; a long katakana compound is broken into the words inside it. Pin a card to keep it on screen while you look up the next word, and drag it out of the way of the text. KEEP IT Add a word to your vocabulary in one click, or move one between learning and learned, straight from the lookup card. For a phrase, write your own card with your own meaning. Everything syncs with kanjidraw.com, so what you save while reading is waiting in the Vocabulary Builder, and what you add on the site is marked on the pages you read. MINE A PAGE Right-click any page with Japanese on it and choose "Mine words from this page". The side panel lists the page's vocabulary: first the words it keeps coming back to, most-used first, then the common words it uses once. Each comes with its reading, meaning and a link to its dictionary card; words you already have are set aside; one click adds a word, or the whole list at once. Mining works with a kanjidraw.com account, up to 3 pages a day. A DICTIONARY IN THE SIDE PANEL Click the toolbar button and the side panel opens beside the page, with the dictionary, your word list, mining and settings. 22,000 common words and 6,400 kanji are built in, searchable by kanji, kana, romaji, or English, Russian or French meaning, and they work even without a connection. Rarer words are fetched from kanjidraw.com when you need them. ENGLISH, RUSSIAN OR FRENCH Interface and meanings both, following your browser by default and switchable in one click. PRIVACY The extension does not read your browsing. Page text is matched against your own word list on your machine and goes nowhere; word mining reads only the page you ask it to, also on your machine, and keeps the result until you close the browser. No request carries page content or a page address. The words you choose to save go to your own kanjidraw.com account and nowhere else. Uses of word mining are counted anonymously in KanjiDraw's own analytics: that something was mined, never what. Recent lookups stay on your device and can be cleared at any time. You need a free kanjidraw.com account for the vocabulary features. Sign in on the site once and the extension connects itself; it never asks for your password.
